Not if you are compiling a list by country of birth. Kinda like Feherty. Born in Ireland but now a US citizen. I'll put all of Feherty's majors in both Ireland and the USA.

Jones won his 7 major open championships up to 1930, so his total may not be in the Georgia column, or the last two might be.

 

If you add Jones' 7 to Georgia's 8, you end up with a total more than Australia.

I don't believe he said he was South African - he said he was born in SA.

 

For example, my father was in the Army and I was born in Germany, but I'm not German. I'm Texan :)

This exercise started as a list I kept for myself. It's much more difficult picking a starting year since that puts some players with wins before and after the "start year".

 

I'll post again after cleaning up the list if it looks useful.

I cleaned up the data and started over. This time I started with 1934 because that's the year of the first Masters.

It's interesting that Australia and South Africa are the only two outside of the USA that has a "Country Slam".

Another interesting stat is the number of countries represented. The Masters has almost as many as the British.

No it doesn't depend on "your criteria", he's British, he plays for Europe in team events.

Without thinking about it beforehand, I would’ve thought FL would have more than it does, but I guess it makes sense. They all just live there now.

When you produce your own chart you can use whatever criteria you choose. You could even choose to do it based on where they live.
