Your Golf Stereotype

I'm the good dresser... I can't golf in shorts either. Just can't. Lightweight, golf specific pants are my thing.

I have 20+ golf shirts of various colors about 10+pairs of golf pants, five pairs of golf shoes, four belts and more Titleist hats of every color than you can shake a dam stick at. I'm a hat junkie... I admit it.

I like to dress decent when I play, so does the wife. I'd buy new golf clothes before I'd buy a new shirt for my job! LOL

I'm a 22HC, but hey, I'm improving and I look good doing it...:-P

I wear expensive clothes/ shoes. I don't have the cheapest clubs either with an expensive bag.

When the guy with the cheap clothes, clubs and bag wins, the screams can be heard from space - NASA

NASA will look down and start screaming themselves thinking I they spotted a tour pro because I dress like one. But, maybee they will not be able to see me in the woods.

Me and the guys I play with are just there to drink some beer and have a good time together. If there's a group behind us that are swinging the sticks well, we usually always let them play through because we know we are slower than most. If we are having a terrible day swinging the clubs, we might just stop keeping score on the back 9 and enjoy the rest of the round.

That's how my dad and I played. We didn't drink during the round but we'd always let others play through if they caught us and we'd stop keeping score if we weren't hitting it very well.

Haha, you’re the guy at the tour event who likes people to think he’s a pro.

I understand the mentality, I’m more like just do not care what people think kinda guy.

Great Value Golf? Don’t get me started on the wrinkly pants made in Antarctica . They have no clue how to sew there

If I can't find my ball within 30 seconds of walking towards where I thought I hit it, I'll drop. If my playing partners lose their ball, I feel obligated to jump into a bundle of poison ivy to help out.

I'll take ESC sometimes to avoid the aggravation.

I hit a ball to the 150 yard stick on a 510yd par 5 the other day(no bragging, just stating it) and the person I was paired with asked me, "What is that, like 280?" and my reply is "I dunno, is it?"

I don't take practice swings.

I judge line and speed while others are putting so I am ready to putt when it is my turn.

I don't move balls(I dinged up my Miura 8 iron pretty good off of a rock in my league match even when my opponent told me to move it to some grass)

I know the rules(my opponent in the semi finals tried telling me every time my clubhead touched the tall grass while in a hazard it was a stroke penalty)

So, we all have our habits and way of doing things. What is your golfer stereotype?

Im the ball hunter. I cant help but drive along the woods and water hazards searching for a few free Pro Vs or any other premium ball. If im playing alone I can get distracted for some time... Ill collect some good looking cheap balls too and just leave them in the cart or my less picky golf buddies will take them. That or save them to do some skipping at a pond (if the course has one).

I’m the ball leaver. I don’t think I’ve ever spent more than a minute or two looking for a ball.

I also bring my own beer instead of buying overpriced crap from the cart girl.

Tinkerer - getting better but I love to experiemnt

Streaky - 50 front, 37 back is standard

Self-blame/Own worst critic - I have higher expectations than are realistic for my ability. But I don't blame outside forces for my poor shots. "That guy moved/there was a bug/why are those people on another hole talking" etc are BS excuses for a poor shot.

Fast player - probably should slow down a little

People think that I am a Dbag and bitter as hell because I work in the industry and get "no time" to play (biggest lie there is...there is time if you make the time) and resent the golfers. Hardly even close to the truth, I work in golf because I love to play the game, and get to play quite often (hit balls and play holes every day, typically 4 rounds a week at least one is walking if caddies are in season). The membership is great, although there is one at every club that thinks he should be in charge, for the most part everyone is great!

I'm the guy that just doesn't give a da#n.

I'll take on shots I don't have in the bag like punching a low 6 iron against the wind with a big fade over a lake to some impossible back right pin, even though I haven't practiced that shot for 2 years.

I got thrown off a team I played for because I played an absolute reckless monster hook over an OB fairway corner just to hit the 18th green in 2 with all my team mates watching. This was less than 8 hours after the captain had told us all to play conservative and we would win the competition.

I told him that I knew I had the shot and could see it perfectly, but he didn't understand my logic.

Apparently I’m the slow guy, my son mentioned it me the other day. I had no idea?

You're not alone. My son told me the same thing.

You know Dad, for someone who takes so much time to hit a shot you sure don't spend any time at all lining up a putt. Maybe if you spent a little less time worrying about hitting your next shot and a little more time lining up your putts you'd play better...

My problem is LOFT -- Lack of friggin' talent

I'm the guy who knows what he SHOULD BE doing, but can't execute it.

"I need to draw the ball around the corner". Block right.

"I need to bump the ball into the side of that ridge, which will then run up to the hole." Thin bullet off the other side of the green.

"I need to stay down on this ball below my feet" Skulled.

Flubbing my shot when a mower pauses so I can execute the shot. Seems to happen a lot.
