Kirkland Signature (Costco) golf balls (MERGED) (NO BST POSTS)

Yeah I'll move to the Snell MTB Black once I'm out.

For me as a hacker, it does not matter whether approved by usga or not. what matters me is if the ball serves me well and available for purchase.

OG Ksig (4 piece) long gone with the wind.

Right on both counts. Absent a truly hard-to-believe mixup on the part of Costco or some sort of unnoticed typo on the latest conforming ball list I'd say this ought to finally quiet the "They're right on schedule to release the original K-Sig again on [fill-in-the-blank upcoming date]".

P.S. Somewhere, Dean Snell is thinking "Well, du-uh!".

It doesn't matter - the K-Sig true believers will still insist that its return is just around the corner, like Linus waiting for the Great Pumpkin.

Lol. Best comment in a while. Keep holding your breath, right?

Loved the 4-piece and still have a couple dozen. (3-piece, not so much. But it's still a great ball for a great price.) My problem is now I've been spoiled for the last year or so by the performance of the 4-piece AND paying ~$1/ball. Not looking forward to paying more (even marginally) for a performance ball in the near future. At least we're now in the era of quality direct-to-consumer golf balls (snell, vice, etc.). I don't think I'll ever be able to fork up the dough for pro-v's/tp5's, etc. Especially knowing that there are comparable products (arguably better products...) out there for less $$$$.

If I lived on a golf course and had the means, YES, Yes I would have one of these.

Recently dove into my stash of K-Sigs because the Z-Star XVs are feeling like rocks off the putter right now and I'm putting horribly. Ran in to serious durability issues again. Attached image was a new ball hit once with driver down the middle, once with 50* wedge. Still can't complain though, considering how little I paid for them.

I could complain if that happened; I've gone through a couple dozen K4s and never had a cover break, even after bouncing them off of trees and rocks. My old square groove Ping Eye2s would do that to balata, but doesn't seem right for normal contact with a modern club to cause damage like that.

I've never had more than a scuff from trees and cart paths. I'm actually going on two rounds with the same ball!

Driver: PING G425 LST/Callaway Epic Speed LS
3 wood: Taylormade mini 300
2 Hybrid Callaway Maverick

4 Hybrid Taylormade Superfast

5-UW: Ping i210

I finally got a round in with the current offering, the 3 piece, on a good ball striking day.

I find the greenside spin adequate, but the ball seems short off the driver, and just kind of dead feeling.

Any concurrence?

I've blasted a couple of 320 plus yarders with the 3 piece, don't really see much loss of distance vs. the 4 piece.

Off the driver its just as long or longer than any ball I play and feels like a Callaway SuperSoft to me. I run into issues with approach shots with the K3 and seems to be 1 club short for me from 150 & in (which is a huge problem). It also spins more on chips than any other ball I have in the bag (something I could work out in time). It just seems to ride up the face with some grippy cover action and the steeper the climb the more it spins and goes straight up. I can see how some said it was not a good ball into the wind because it would take pro clubhead speed to hit it 150+

Like others have said though...If you don't play regularly then its a great value for weekend warriors. The weird thing? I still prefer it over the original Ksig...I just did not like much about it at the end of the day.

Not from me. Only one round with it so far, but not at all disappointed with length off the tee. I don't mind the greenside spin, either, works for me so far. I've been hitting fewer full wedges and more low half shots and I think the grip is something I can learn to like.

I had another ball fall apart on me. Two shots: 2 iron to fairway, then wedge. Cover shredded. My first thought was maybe I should stop going to the gym because modern golf balls can't handle my strength. My second thought was, this sleeve of balls may have been left in my attached garage over the winter (hovers at temperatures just above freezing) and it severely degraded the durability. Otherwise, I have no idea why these balls keep falling apart on me.

That looks like paint damage. The 4-pc KSIG is a cast urethane cover that is painted white. At least from here looking at the pic it looks like the urethane cover is not damaged just the paint job. Older models of ProV1 did that to me all the time.

Driver: Cobra F9 with HZRDUS SMOKE Stiff
3W: Titleist 917F2 w/Fujikura Speeder Pro Tour Spec 84 Stiff
2I: Srixon Z U65 18 Degree w/Miyazaki Kaula 7s
Irons: Mizuno MP-54 3-PW DG S300
Wedge: Vokey TVD 56 K-Grind
Wedge: Vokey SM6 60-12 K-Grind
Putter: Scotty Cameron Newport 2

I don't notice any distance difference between K3 and other urethane balls in my stash including Z Star's and B330 RX's. I concur that K3 doesn't feel as nice though, but it's good enough for the most part.

Ping G400 Max driver w/Aldila Rogue 125 Silver
Ping G425 5 wood & hybrid
Ping G30 irons w/Recoil 95

Ping G425 irons w/Accra ICWT 2.0 95
Ping Glide wedges w/Recoil 110
Ping Redwood Anser - the "real deal!"

I took a bad picture. It's not as bad as the first ball, I kept playing it. But I can see under the urethane cover now up near the 'K' in Kirkland

I know we're all bemoaning the loss of the original K-Sig, but given that it has been replaced on the conforming list with another 4 piece ball, "Performance One" (it shall be dubbed the K1), I'm not surprised they didn't continue the original. I'm hoping it's because they found another manufacturer that can produce basically the same ball at in greater quantities. Only time will tell, but my fingers are crossed for an equally good ball at the same price point that can be regularly available (and maybe even in stores!).

wasn't that from a year ago? The original Tour Performance was listed as manufactured by Nassau in South Korea, AKA the Quattro.

The Performance One has been on the list for over a year.

Maybe the supplyer in China is also going to make the new version (same plant as K3)

Cobra F7+ - Stiff
Callaway V-Series 3 & 5 wood with Aldila Rouge Silver
Srixon 585 5-AW - Modus 105 Stiff
Ping Glide 2.0 Stealth 53 & 58 Degree

Same Kirkland brand ball, huge difference in quality IMO.

I wouldn't call it bait-n-switch because of the circumstances but I hope no one gets suckered into new Ksig thinking it's a great great ball.

There is people that desperately need spin. They should be the K3 users. If you watch the TXG video that is what they show. In my case, and maybe yours, is the opposite. The less spin the better. So, the K4 is for me. In order to say the Kirklands are not great it had to be because of quality control or materials. Even if they are using a 2008 TP Black formula or whatever, is a ball that decently can do its job. After all, I see very good players using Pro Vs bought used or found from 5 generations ago.

Are you talking about the "Performance One" ? It might be a great ball but nobody has seen it yet.
