Which ball do you use?

ZStar XV. A great ball that does everything I want and is firm off the putter. Tried various online only balls and each was good in some or most ways I find the XV to suit me in all ways.

Need to change mine to the AVX. Played a ton of balla this summer and always went back to ProV1...until I found a couoke AVXs.Best ball Ive ever gamed. Fits my game but your mikesge may vary.

 

I don't always burn $5 a hole. But when I do, I buy AVX.

Z Star XV for 2 years now. $20 a dozen last year on introductory 6 packs, $20 a dozen early this year on sale. Excellent ball. One of the Best deals in Golf. I Bought 12 dozen each time.

 

I’d might quit golf before I’d pay $4 dollars for a Titleist.

This year I have played my standards Titleist DT TruSoft and Callaway super soft . Added the Maxfli Softfli and Callaway Hex Bite. I cannot tell much difference with any of these balls as far as feel . Hex Bite holds very close to where it lands on the green. Hit a seven iron with the wind blowing behind me with the Hex and it stopped within 2 inches of where it landed. The other three would of rolled at least 3 feet for me. That is all. Goodbye.

Hex bite strikes again! I had a 50 footer drop and stop on a high ledge of a tiered green. And my wedges do not produce a ton of spin.

Started in the mid 80's with whatever I could find as a scholar, favourite was the Dunlop 65i, those days Pinnacle Gold was everywhere but hard as a rock, hated them.... Lots of Top Flite's came my way but wasn't until the Top Flight Aero came along that I played 1 ball exclusively. Rip Van Winkle started again in 2017 and currently rotate PV1x,Wilson Due Soft together with Callaway stuff ... Not settled on a ball yet

Back to the Chrome Soft for me. Loving the truvis designs but the main thing for me is the durability. The QST and ZStar perform well for me, but I am lucky to get a 1 round out of them before they get so marked and scuffed and stained that I take them out of play. Yet I have gotten over 6 rounds out of several different truvis CS balls and they still look good enough to keep in play.

 

So as long as I am not losing balls every round, the CS actually becomes the more cost efficient option.

Prefer the ProV1 out of all but as of late I am enjoying the Chrome Softs a lot. They are soft, not ProV1 pillowy soft but I feel like their feedback off the clubface, especially on and around the greens.

 

Both Pro V1 versions are much more firm than Chrome Soft.

I use Bridgestone e7's/e6's, sometimes the Tour BX S. However, I do prefer the Nike RZN's. I have a sleeve left and am afraid to use them and lose them.

 

Recently made the full switch to Bridgestone Tour BX /BXS and play 330's occasionally.

Been a pretty loyal Pro V1x player for years. Nephew got me to try what he uses, Srixon Z star XV. Very nice. I bought a dozen for $30. Going to use them this weekend and the weekend after in outings. Really impressed with the xv.

NIKE Tour Platinum- bought like 48 dozen from EWatts when they were on close out for $25bucks. I prolly will go with the Bridgestone TourS when I run out in 2032.

I've played them all. I recently discovered the MG C4 and I'll never pay ~$48 for a dozen balls again. It does everything the ProV1, ProV1X, BXS, Chrome Soft, etc will do but for over half the cost. The big companies can kiss my white @ss.

Chrome Soft, Chrome Soft X, Pro V1, Pro V1x. All of them play very well for me.

 

I player Titleist Balatas and then Titleist Professionals before the Pro V1's came out. If I left the Tour Balata balls in my bag in the heat I could cut the covers with my finger nail. They could also go out of round. But, in the heat of the summer they made the coolest sound when hit with a persimmon driver. And spin? Yikes.

 

Here is an interesting thing that happened to me a very long time ago. I put a new dozen of Spaulding Strata golf balls on the sun deck in my car and forgot I left them there while I was at work at the office. They were exposed to direct sunlight coming through the rear window. It was hot outside all day. I went to the course after work and teed one up on the first tee. Whack, with the driver. The ball went in the air and change directions four or five times, finally nose diving. What? I thought. I teed up another, same thing. So I looked at the remaining balls. Here, the dimples on the sunny side of the balls had almost completely disappeared. So the drag on the ball changed as it traveled down range. Hilarious! Of course I wasted the cost of a dozen new balls. So, I left them in the fairway. I can just imagine somebody picking them up thinking: "Somebody dropped these new balls and I found them. My lucky day! Yep, bad lucky day.
