Top Golf Orlando

Recommended Posts

I will be in Orlando in a couple of weeks for a conference, and Ideally I'd like to get a couple of rounds of golf in but I don't think this will be possible. So the next best would be a trip to Top Golf, I've heard a lot about the concept and it seems fun. Does any one know anything about the place in Orlando, does it get busy? do I need to reserve something or can I just turn and play. Can I hire clubs? Is the beer good?

Its ALWAYS busy. That place makes bank. It's a 'tourist attraction'.

If you can reserve do it, but for peak times they dont allow reservations. It's a walk-in system IIRC. They have crappy clubs there that everyone uses in each bay, OEM brand. They dont rent good ones. Beer is beer....Bud Light and etc on tap and maybe some craft cans.

It's fun, but you'll spend $100 a person easily within an hour.

If you want to hit balls and rent clubs or even play golf, go to Rosen Shingle Creek. They have nice Taylormade M2 sets to rent, have a nice driving range, and during the week you can play a round quickly.

Top Golf is a fun social experience, especially if you're with a group of people that simply just want to hang out and swing a club every once in a while. If you're alone, then post #2 is the better suggestion.

Has anyone ever gotten so drunk they fell off the tee area?

Update: Yes

https://brobible.com/life/article/drunk-dude-falls-topgolf-platform-celebrating/

I’m really shocked something as stupid as this concept has not been sued out of existence. In The Woodlands I think it goes 5 stories? Even with nets it’s just a matter of time before someone finds a way to miss them.

If you enjoy watching idiots drunk off over priced beer, trying to hit a golfball off the side of a building, this place is for you.

If not see post 2.

thanks guys, I'll check out the Shingle Creek, I'm staying in the Rosen Inn, so might get a free ride there or a discount! I guess it will be very busy on Sunday, which will be the only day I will be able to play a round on....but as I have nothing else to do I don't mind that

Yes, Shingle Creek on a Sunday (or any public course in Orlando) will be 4 hours per round.

I dont know bout that price quote. Went with three friends one night. Had dinner, bucket of beers, +2 more beers, plus 2 hours in the bay. Cost was less than 100 if not 75

thanks, $100 seems very very expensive, $25 each for beers and golf is what I would expect :-)

Beer is $5 per, and 1hr of golf at Topgolf is $50 after 5PM. So one beer and one hour is $55 + tax.

My wife and I went. It was fun. The clubs suck but it's just more of a fun activity. I would do it again. It's not a substitute for real golf, or even range time. We each had a few drinks, shared 2 appetizers, got a kids meal for our daughter and played for 1 hr 15 mins. It cost $110 (including tip).

But if you have six people, then two beers and two hours of bay time would be $32/person, which is not bad.

i have been to top golf here in orlando, and about 10 in other cities (scottsdale last week). all are similar, however orlando has trackman for every shot. kind of cool. i go there with my kids a lot, and yes its crowded. you can reserve bays on their website. if you want something similar, with better games, try drive shack - its by the airport. rory mcilroy was there for the opening and posted some pics. i like this better than top golf. similar concept, great food, less crowded, and also brand new. they all have callaway clubs, not great but you are going for the social fun more than the score. good luck!

  • 3 weeks later...

I managed to get invited to a couple of sponsor events at Topgolf in Orlando. What a great concept, loved it

Glad you got to experience it. Top Golf is a concept that probably wouldn't even be considered in Europe. I'm sure it's an experience you'll remember longer than a cookie-cutter range session at golf course.

Six people sharing one bay??????? Why not just stay home and drink beer.

because not EVERYONE wants to hit balls non stop. Top golf isn't made for most folks of golfwrx. it's a social gathering and they do lots of good work for corporate events and charity function.

glad OP had a good time.
