To be fair, the standard offering isn’t that bad

you are right, the JS2 low top does look much better. I have no idea UA golf shoes are at $200 a pair....

That’s where I don’t understand the UA direction. $230 for the mid and $200 for the low seems extremely steep for a newish area of the company.

I play slightly over 200 rounds a year at courses ranging from high end private clubs to low end muni's, and I still think I can count on 1 hand the number of UA golf shoes I've actually seen on any of those courses. I'll never understand how they even support continuation in this segment. Particularly anything that looks like that. And I'm not a UA hater. I love UA's golf related shorts, pants and shirts.

Agree 100%. And the only pair of Spieth 2's I've seen, the guy was complaining how some of the disk looking spikes had fallen out, and he couldn't replace them.

The Drive One were great. After that, it’s like they lost their minds.

I see at least one pair each time I play. I think a major factor is the relationship between Under Armour and Texas Tech here in Lubbock. This is UA town so that may be why.

I wear a lot of UA workout and golf gear (sans the hats - they aren't deep enough for my noggin) but just haven't found a pair of show I like from UA. To me the golf shoes look terrible, just terrible. I could let it slide if they were okay looking but felt great/comfortable/stable etc. But they aren't even okay looking.

I can't believe everyone drones on and on about how terrible these shoes looks and no-one has mentioned the reason behind their design.

THEY'RE MEANT FOR BAD WEATHER!

If you're wearing these shoes, you're probably wearing rain pants with them, and most of the upper won't even be seen. Calm down everyone.

Impressed that UA were able to take an already ugly shoe and make it even worse, that's a really good effort from the guys.

Agree with pretty much all of the comments that have been made about UA shoes. They just don't seem to be able to get out of their own way and make something which is decent looking.

I don't think they're objectively bad looking. I prefer athletic apparel and shoes (because golf IS a sport) so performance (waterproofing, flexibility, comfort, traction) is key. I get it; some people see golf as more of a game and lifestyle, where dressier clothes and sleeker/dressier shoes are preferred, but those golfers likely don't even look at UA because the brand isn't luxury/dressy. For those of us with athleticism as a priority, all UA shoes pretty much fit (except '16 tempo tours in my opinion). In the case of the mids, if they can waterproof the added height, then add height! I'll use em in March at my favorite (muddy) upstate NY course. And appearance-wise, MY opinion is that they look better (at least not worse) than Nike's vaporstorm high tops (UA materials and colors look better to me) or Puma's Fowler high top (which looks bulkier to me). If you don't like the way they look, don't shop them. Just know that some people still WILL shop them. BTW, I have zero affiliation with UA, these are just my humble opinions.

It doesn't matter if they're meant to wear with galoshes, those are BUTT UGLY. The first shoe they released were good looking.
