Wilson Staff C300 Driver and Fairway

Recommended Posts

Anyone been playing or recently tested the C300 woods? Finally looked at the driver in person and I was pleasantly surprised at how good it looked at address. Price tag is not bad either.

Rick Shiels numbers were pretty impressive with the driver but his review is the only meaningful "in-depth" review that I have found that is worth watching.

Looking for feedback/reviews.

Sorry in advance if this has been covered but I didn't notice any recent threads with user experiences.

-Thanks

I’ve got both. Like the driver although not currently in the bag. Long high bombs all day when played. Liked the fairway when demoed but it couldn’t beat my F5 FgTour 5 wood I’m bagging opened up to 16*. Both are great sticks though. Driver for me was as good as anything I’ve tried lately. People in our group are all the latest, greatest crowd and were all impressed with the performance of them, they’re just not W/S guys.

Tried the C300 driver paired with HZRDUS Black 6.0 75gram at this weekend’s demo day at my home course and was very pleased with it. Nice traditional shape, didn’t mind the color at all. After some dialing by the fitter, adding more weight to the toe I produced some of the best drives in my life. ~115 mph swing speed, +3 degree AOA, driver head neutral 10,5 degree resulted in close to optimum figures. What baffled me the most was the result of my standard misses, heely strikes didn’t suffer as much distance loss as with my current gamer and most important they didn’t leak right either. They would easly be in play out at the course. Got to try more drivers aswell but the Wilson will be a strong contender to my next driver for sure.

All is relative but I'd say yes if you compare most other models on market today the C300 would be considered to have a deeper face. Though not on par with your Cleveland Classic 310.

My fitter yesterday said the Wilson C300 compared favourably to the TS3 - could anyone who has tested this comparison share their findings?

They are not close. The TS# is far and away superior. it feel better, has better sound. looks better, sets up better. etc, etc, etc.

Kool-aid

I guess some people are thrilled that Titleist released their version of the R9 SuperTri eight years after Taylor Made. Might as well let them bask over the monumental achievement.

It really does look like the supertri lol

Looking at the C300 in person, it looks like it may be more of a player's driver. It has a deeper face, shorter profile.

Anyone have any first hand knowledge of its forgiveness?

I found it pretty forgiving myself.

Indeed, when compared to my current gamer (in signature) on Trackman my usual miss, heely strikes were much more on line and also showed less distance loss.

I have played mine for about 2 months. It is a fantastic driver. Long, low spin, very forgiving and sets up great at address. I put a Matrix 75m4 in mine, which has been my go to shaft for 4 years. It just fits my specs perfect. I went from a Taylor M1440 to this and prior to that a Flyz plus. The feel and flight of this driver is as good or better than anything I tried prior to buying it.

That is great feedback.

For some reason, this damn thing is very appealing and from the user reviews I have been able to find, the C300 is no slouch. I have always been a fan of the underdog and I think Wilson has produced their best driver to date. May have to just pull the trigger for shiggles.

His opinion. And there's nothing wrong with that btw but that's what it is because it's all subjective.

His opinion means diddly squat, mostly if it goes against my opinion.
