Taylormade hi-toe

Im not understanding the desire for a high-toe/ mid-high bounce in 52-56. . . .I thought the point of high toe was extended scoring lines and high CG for when opening face on LW since thats what the pros use them for . . . is this just people wanted high-end matching wedges?

Also, just clarifying, there is not going to be a low-bounce 60 degree with the fully scored face available? Is this because they are worried ATV wont sell?

Well there’s desire there or they wouldn’t be making them. Nothing wrong with having a more versatile wedge or giving people more options. They aren’t gonna stop making the MG so you’re good. Pros hit full shots with those wedges too, just like everyone else.

If you are a digger that plays soft sand then you can often be better off using a high bounce 56 and really opening up the clubface. It gives you more bounce at any given effective loft than the 60 will and is more versatile for medium length bunker shots. Just remember to try to keep the hands a little lower than normal like Pete Cowan teaches to stop the toe digging when it is that far open.

The hi-toe gives you a larger effective face for when you lay it open and I would have thought a 56 with hi bounce would have been a natural club for TM to produce, after all the PM grind is a 56/13.

Looking forward to trying out the 52 as I only play 2 wedges (52/58). The shape will be the biggest question mark.

Wouldn't you be better off with 54 and 58?

i definitely love the club, and not ATV grind so much, so i understand there is desire, just not the point of the high toe with-out the scoring lines. but if for the sake of consistent shape/feel throughout wedges, I understand.

but the PM has lines across face. Does the new hi-toe have a larger effective face without these lines?

I haven't got to see one yet either in photos or in person but I would expect the 56 to have lines across the whole face like the PM and for the lesser lofts to have standard width grooves

As mentioned previously but the TaylorMade custom shop site is showing a bunch of lofts/lies for the Hi Toe and shipping date as of 9/21/18. Is this a mistake or will these Hi-Toe offering be available very soon? I have had some success with my current 58 Hi Toe but an option with a lower bounce I think would be perfect.

I was hoping for a PM grind 54 but looks like I’ll settle for a TM hi-toe. Any idea on a release date?

I'd appreciate info on release date too.

Had my first hole out with the Hi toe 60 from 80 yards at the weekend and looking to add a 56 to the bag.

Go to TM site and go straight to custom shop before you select wedges. Don’t select hi-toe then try to customize. Earliest ship is 9/23

Mine came today. They look mint, can't wait to try them out.

I may just go with a 54*. I love my 58* PM grind especially for full and square face shots so my hope is the Hi-Toe will be similar. If there was a 54* PM grind I’d probably go with that. Or who knows if I like the Hi-Toe enough I may give the 58* a whirl too.

is the lob the non ATV grind? Could you post a couple pics of the grind if so? Is there much less curve and offset vs the original hi toe?

Anyone have any photos they can share of the new 4 way cambered sole? Nothing online yet of any photos of the new offerings but the above pictures look promising.

If you could take more pics of the grinds them or a side by side pic of another wedge to see the shape that would be great!

Side note: I wish there was a low bounce option LW. Once I found out there wasnt, I put a sneaky heel grind on my 62 degree. Awesome move. Hi-toe is replacing 3 iron for this weeks round. Cant wait for the 58 to arrive.
