Just played my first round in my new Adidas 360 Tour 2.0 Boost Blue and am not happy!!

Bought a pair of Adidas 360 Boost Blue limited edition for the bargain price of £81.58 through the online Adidas outlet sale.

 

I wore them for the first time in a competition today, the weather was terrible, heavy downpour for the front 9, water began pooling on the greens and many guys didnt even play.

 

By the time we'd finished the 8th hole i could feel my right foot becoming damp and felt just short of soaked a couple of holes later. I even felt soaked for the first time whilst wearing my Footjoy Dryjoys rain suit, but then this was the most persistant rain id played in wearing it.

 

Also by the 12th the back of my left heel began to rub, was suprised i didnt have a blister by the time id finished, the shoe has a leather lined heel.

 

This has left me wondering wether or not to return the shoes?

 

Is it acceptable for them to let a little water in during excessive rain? Im guessing they would be fine in just the odd shower.

 

Will the rubbing stop when they are worn in a bit, or is there anything i can do to stop it?

Although you say rain was as bad as you’ve played in: leaking after 8 holes is what 2 hours max ?

 

Doesn’t bode well IMO.

I’ve never had an issue with a rub in the 2.0, but they’re obviously going to fit everyone different.

 

In my opinion, water proof golf shoes are water proof against morning dew, light rain, etc. In heavy rain, water is going to find a way in through the ankle, eyelets, etc. The only truely waterproof shoe I’ve found is the Adidas BOA boot with rain pants overtop.

I really want to like these shoes as i love their look, and other than the heel rub problem, they are really stable and comfortable. If the rubbing eases off next time i play in them then i think il keep them as im sure they'l stay dry in anything but extreme wet conditions, which then i will wear my Dryjoys instead.

I guess you got your answer all on your own. Myself I would return them.

Personally I don’t wear shoes if it’s biblical weather, I wear boots. All shoes will let water in when it’s like that, whether it’s from run off your rain pants down the inside, through the laces or whatever. I’d also guess that this doesn’t help with the rubbing.

Put a large heavy duty bandaid on your heel. That's what I do anytime I play golf. Low cut no show socks cover it up. No blisters or uncomfortable rub.

Waterproof is never truly waterproof in a golf shoe. Water will always find a way in with a hard heavy rain. Boots different story, or a full high shoe made for weather.

This. Water coming in by the laces and around the ankle. Hard to waterproof air gaps.

They will break in and stop rubbing. The leather liner is a much better alternative than the cloth that used to rip and then rub on every Adidas pair.

Only true waterproof shoes I can think of for conditions like that are the nike lunar vapor storms, addidas has a boot like boa shoe out there called the climaproof boa, and i know FJ had a shoe out there that was truly waterproof called the FJ waterproof boot but they are hard to find. Not going to speak about any of them since I do not personally own any of them but they seem like shoes geared towards being 100% waterproof due to their design. The all appear to have some kind of boa/zippered shell around the actual shoe.

The Footjoy boots work like a dream. I wore them fifty times over the winter and not one drop got in from anywhere.

 

I’ve also bought some of the Nike Vaporstorms to use this year in tandem with the Footjoy. Not tried them out yet.

If the water came in from the top that's not the shoes fault. If they got your feet wet through the upper or sole then I would return them under the 2 year Waterproof warranty.

I'd give them one more chance, on a day that does not involve a heavy down poor. Then consider how many rounds under each condition you will play in the expected life of the shoes and decide to return or not. I would think that not many of us expect to play in a heavy down poor and stay dry.
