Srixon new line!!!

LBGolf

Recommended Posts

Over the past few months I have tried and tested the new line of Srixon products. I was asked not to post too much info until now but have to say wow.

The entire line is outstanding. 785 irons and u85 are my favourite items so far. I don’t think I can do any wrong with them. With the 785 irons I have tested with off centre hits all over the face and they are insanely consistently. The u85 is possibly the easiest to hit utility I have tested too. Not longer just much easier to use in general.

From my sources the blade that is coming out is expected to blend into the 785 irons very well.

It’s going to be a hot year for Srixon ??

I just put in an order for my Z585 and my U85 utility irons. I'm so excite to be returning to Srixon. I was playing Mizuno JPX-900 Hot Metals. I feel that I'll get distance , feeling and a lot of confidence. I should never have sold my Z565 irons...Now I'll have to be antsy waiting for my Srixons.

I just ordered a 785 driver and f85 3 wood. Great stuff. I've been playing an Adams driver and 3w for 5 years and finally found a reason to upgrade.

The 785 irons are great, might switch out my 965's for them.

Ordered Z785 driver. Getting a fitting in a little fit... Expecting to either get a blended 785 iron set or 919 blended set for irons. Unfortunately, Srixon/Clev decided not to offer any more bounce options for lefties in the wedges, so RTX 4's are probably out of the picture. I still have my RTX 3 in my back up bag for the spring when the turf is soggy.

I've also got a 785 driver on order with CK PRO Blue 60 TX for no upcharge, should be here any day now. Seriously considering the Z85 3 wood. Not sure what shaft I would want in it though, I thought maybe the stock.Hzrdus Red in 6.5 might work. The Tensi Pro Blue is now a $140 upcharge, but you can get Hzrdus Hancrafted Black or Yellow still at no upcharge, I was thinking maybe trying to go with a yellow 75 6.0. I've demoed that shaft in a Rogue, like the feel, just never have really hit the Hzrdus red....

I was discussing Srixon irons with a Srixon staff pro who I have taken lessons with in the past. I asked him if he found any difference in test results between the 765 and 965. He said he got the same dispersion, spin and distance nos. between the 2 models. He plays the 765s for the extra forgiveness and he will be going with the 785s.

Even though the above has little to do with me (14 capper), thought it might of interest to scratch or low cappers.

Tested the new Srixon irons. I did not like the look of the 585, the sole looks bloated compared to the 565. The 785 looks great but the numbers weren't as good as the Mizuno 919 Forged for me. I really like the 565's and 765's and was hoping the new generation would be an improvement but they're not for me.

I went hzrdus handcrafted 65 yellow 6.0 in both driver and 3w, no upcharge. I used to hit x flex but I hit the 6.0 great.

The shaft you got compared to the yellow is very different. Yours is mid kick 3.9 torque 68g, yellow is high kick 3.3 torque 63g and backweighted. The red is mid kick 3.3 torque 63g. The black is high kick 3.2 torque and 62g.

I went today and ordered the 3 wood, I did go HC Hzdrus yellow 75, but in 6.0. It's weird, but I like a bit of a tip soft shaft in the driver, but in a X flex, but in three woods, I don't like the tip soft shafts as much. I was thinking of swingweight also.

Wow this couldn’t be further from the truth. Everything in the ‘85 series is smaller and more compact vs the ‘65 series. Whether they perform better is still up in the air but looks it’s a huge improvement especially the blade length.

The 785 irons are sooooo good. I think mid cappers could easily play up to the 7i, maybe the 6i. I also love the look of the U85, but not a fan of Recoil; too light and kind of dead feeling. These would probably shine with a lightweight steel shaft.

Got a look at the 585 and 785 drivers today... Man, I think they are some of the best looking drivers out there, especially the 785. I did hit the 585, numbers were ok, sound was ok, looked good, just a tad closed and the rear of the crown is more pointed than the rounder 785. There was no demo 785, but with the HZRDUS black, it really felt nice, would have liked to have hit it. Almost made a poor decision and bought it on the spot... really a nice looking driver. Have not seen the irons in person yet, but I still have a love affair with my 745s, dont think they will be going anywhere ever....

All the Srixon stuff is great! 585s are so easy to hit and are about 1 club longer than 785s. That being said, the 785s are gorgeous and so soft feeling. These will give 919Ts are run for their money?! Don't mind the woods, but I prefer the softer feel of the TS 2 for woods. RTX-4 for sure will be in the bag! ;)

I have had the Z785 driver in the bag for a little over a week now and have been really impressed. The feel off the clubface is unrivaled compared to the drivers that I have gamed before (907 D2, ZL Encore, and BioCell+). On-center hits feel explosive and off-center hits feel clunky, but they still fly closer to the line and distance that they would for a better strike. The one in the bag at the moment has the HZRDUS Black 65 6.5 shaft in it. Unfortunately, that shaft is too light for me, so I lose the clubhead whenever I try to swing harder than about 75%. That being said, I already have a second one on the way with the Tensei Pro Orange 70 - this should be closer to what I am looking for.

I just got the 65 series irons this spring, so I probably won't be getting those anytime soon. However, I might think about snagging a new Srixon 3-wood early next summer. Everything that I have heard from the "big guys" playing these clubs right now is extremely positive, so it's definitely a line worth checking out.
