Taylormade hi-toe

I'd really appreciate anyone that has a 56 posting some photos.

I'm loving my 60 ATV and thinking of adding a 56 to the bag but I'm a digger and 10 degrees bounce is on the light side for me but I'm guessing the sole is still going to be wider on the hi toe 56 than the milled grind 56/13 which could make all the difference.

I hope they make a chrome or satin version. I hate the current finish.

Agreed. They selfishly pushed this finish because it stands out more on TV, rather than giving customers what they want in black/satin/chrome.

What? No dude, they gave people what they wanted with the raw finish. No one is asking for more chrome wedges.

Antique bronze may rust but it’s not a straight raw finish like most of us would equate when they think of raw. I left raw out, not thinking about it at the moment I was typing my reply but in terms of finishes they could have chose, antique bronze is by far the worst, in my opinion. I mainly referenced chrome because it was in regards to the comment I was quoting. I agree chrome is less and less popular these days, but really no excuse not to have raw, satin, black either out already or in the plans for 2019. I for one, would buy one if they did. Just my 2 cents.

The 56 looks to have the HiToe shaping but what about the 52? Is it a standard looking wedge? I can see the grooves are standard and not all the way accross on the 50-52-54 heads...

The Hi-Toe name and color are surely pushing this marketing campaign for lower lofts. But to me having the "feel pockets" or whatever they are calling them now a days is the tech that will make this wedge an upgrade compared to MG's. This is what I am most excited to test. As for the 1 color option, as a current 60deg Hi-Toe owner let me tell you my story. I loved the color in store and online. But once I got on the course with it I really began to hate it. Was it so good looking it was distracting my shots? To shiny and/or reflective face/hosel distracting my focus? Flip a coin! I couldn't decide the true culprit, but there was a fix. Your standard mix of white vinegar and peroxide solution will quickly remove the copper raw color returning it to a beautiful tour satin. A durable glare free proven to work "with me" finish. It's not a raw finish it will not rust. I have soaked with with a salting solution to no avail. Later I ended up custom grinding the ATV sole some and had to remove some material. Once sanding through the tour satin finish you can obtain a RAW finish which has rusted and un-rusted after a bunker shot or two. So if you don't like the tour satin either and want a rust version you can obtain that as well with a little sanding and salting solution or forget the rusting and give it the flame/oil treatment! My point is color is easy to change but make sure you don't want the original color back first :taunt: I made the right choice will you? :fishing1:

The face rusts quicker than the frame. . . .its pretty much raw (for me at least), especially after sand takes most of the finish off. Every other finished wedge ive owned (crome black satin) took longer to rust, if they did at all.

I get what your saying, I would have a hard time picking the bronze if they had offered "tour raw" lol. But its raw IMO

What would your opinion be on getting a 56*wedge and having it bent 1 weak to a 55*. I have the 60* HT and would love to have a 50-55-60 setup.

thats one degree strong, but will be fine. it will be 55 with 9 degrees bounce (unless its 55.ATV, then its 55 with 11 of bounce)

Tho my opinion is dont bend it. Your gapping should not suffer, wedges are more for control. But if your OCD, go for it lol

Order placed today for the 56 to add to my 60 ATV. I'll then see how it works on behalf of the "digger" community !

10 degrees bounce is low but I'm banking on the width of sole making it play a lot more forgiving

Bounce is just a measurement of an angle. Sole width matters.

10* narrow sole will have a lower effective bounce and will play like a lower bounce angle wedge, say 8*. And a 10* wider sole will have a higher effective bounce and play like a higher bounce wedge, say 12*.

Guys has anyone had to do any additional grinding on the sole of the retail ATV sole Hi For. Had a play with one recently and just felt the heel was dragging all the time. Was thinking of taking some heel and trailing edge away to make it feel better.

Custom ground mine as mentioned in thread a few posts above this. I felt the same way about drag, kinda like a delayed bounce I didn't like it.Most material I removed was from heal and trailing edge. Honestly now the best 60* wedge I have ever played

Do it. Check a couple pages back, I posted a pic of my custom grind.

You will need to add lead tape, the swing weight significantly affected.
