My 460 comp needs a shaft

Any suggestion????? my tour 460 comp needs a shaft, it has a nvx in it, but I dont care for it that much. Thoughts????

where is Joe when we need him? LOL

What is wrong with you S.I.X.? Joe said the depth was different with the COMP also and had to make some adjustment with tipping to make it CPM right.

Six is a good one for sure. The MW-54 is also a solid one in the same class.

I play a SIX X tipped 3/8ths in my J340 and like that combo...long and workable but I don't know how the SIX translates in a Comp 460 insertion.

Just as an experiment, I recently put a ShaqX in a 580XD TP tour 9.5...added some lead tape to the toe and love that shaft/head combination. I thought the ShaqX might be too stiff for my 106ss but it works well. It is a very consistent shaft and I can really swing through the ball without worrying about wild misses either left or right.

The 580/ShaqX is currently in the bag.

I have experimented with about 10 different shafts in my comp.. and I think if your playing and like the SIX it would be a great option to try, as the comp seems to benefit the most from softer tip shafts(and this could be due to the .350" tip or the lighter head weights(mine was 196g until I glued it to 205g).. I currently have a mw64 in it and it working good.. Josh

Until I put the 580/shaqX combo in the bag last week, I was playing the 'six,six, six'. Still have the Six in my V-Steel tour 13 and 21 and in my 'benched' J340.

It is a great shaft for fws as well as the driver.

If you like a lively tip, try the CP-02. I had one in my Comp, and it was very long.

I put in a pullout 652X from my GBB415. It had to be tipped almost 2" but it plays perfect!!!!! The 460 comp has been the biggest surprise this year. I will be experimenting with a 761 later on :lol:

If you haven't bought and installed the SIX yet, I have another suggestion...Diamana 63. Until yesterday, I had no experience with this shaft. I play SIX X shafts in my J340 and TM V-steels.

The owner at Carolina Custom Golf took a retail Comp 460 8.5 head and shimmed a 63 stiff into the .350 bore.

I hit some balls at the range and that shaft works well in the Comp.

The shaft plays like a SIX but is tighter in dispersion. I'm going to 'borrow it' and try it again.

Just another shaft to try...

Now if I could only find a Comp 460 8.5 tour issue to try the combo without the shim. I couldn't tell any difference though.

CP02 All the way.....Joe just put one in my Cleveland Comp 10.5 and HOLY s***!!! This driver is really long and the feel is great!!!! The CP02 is a lively tip and easy to handle it is really a great shaft.....GOOD LUCK and everyone who hasn't tried the COMP let me tell you this.....TRY IT! IT IS LONG!!!!!! :lol:

I'll complicate things by making another suggestion for a lightweight shaft. Joe set up my 10.5 L460 Comp with a 553 Fujikura. The shaft kicks and is very easy to play longer than normal too. It's a stout little bugger even in an R flex. I'm no gorilla, but I can load this thing easy and it kicks great!
