Vokey sm8?

They will probably look the exact same.

I’m not sure how they can improve upon the sm6/sm7

They look perfect, grinds are very good, maybe D in 54/56, low bounce K, feel solid

Is it too early for talk about them yet or when they will be released.
I don't know why everyone is acting like they haven't been talking about the sm8. Just typed it into Google and got multiple hits with new info. Here's a YouTube video with Vokey giving some hints himself.

because they dont want to have to go buy the sm8 , and they know they will as soon as they come out !

Personally, I hope they relase the SM8 soon. I can’t stand having odd numbered club names in my bag. JPX 919? No thanks, I’ll stick with my 900s. M3? No thanks, M4 for me. I’d be tempted to try the SM8s, I really liked the 6s

I hope your kidding, otherwise you have serious issues if you won't play a potentially better iron solely due to an odd number.

Do you try to avoid every crack in the road as well....lol.

Some JP designs like when he was on his own would be nice. It’s all about the bling now.

Lol the SM7's are barely 6 months old. I wasn't able to place an order til around March. Besides... any changes at this point are purely marketing. Grooves and faces are as rough/sharp as allowed, and there's now about 7 different grinds. What more can they do? Maybe minor changes to the metallurgy to make them a bit softer??

Literally the only thing BV could whip out of his bag is bringing out a 1 piece forging or something crazy. Otherwise when you say you've optimized CG for the SM6... then now it's even more optimized in SM7... to say it again for SM8 is kind of taking some rep away from the brand because it means either you hold out or you're BS'ing. Kind of like crying Wolf.

Completely agree with this assessment. I mean, cmon. These rinse and repeat iterations are undoubtedly getting old to a lot of us.

Ive always been slightly perplexed as to why the volley range is so popular . Sure they have the titleist name and scream “player” , generally the cosmetics are good and the sole grinds look and perform good . I’ve played them several times and i always end up giving up on them . They definitely spin well, but so do all good wedges

1. They look grotesque over the ball . Give me a Mizuno t7 or the old Nike wedge shape any day

2. They feel dead and clunky off the face - maybe this is because I play forged wedges generally

Also how come nobody can design a nice looking 3 wood any more ? Taylormades and ping look like a cross between a boat oar and a spaceship !

I'd wonder only because of money. When the SM8's come out, I assume the SM7's will drop to 'prices so low we can't advertise them, add to cart to find out' price of 99/wedge like the SM6's did once the SM7's were released. The SM7's look, feel and handle a lot better in my opinion due to those wonderful grinds, CG placement, etc they've tweaked for SM7. I'm sure SM8 will be awesome but I think I can scrape by with the SM7's lol. Put it this way. At 99/wedge I'll buy 3-4 wedges for 300 or 400 OR if I get them now I can get 3 wedges for 450, 2 wedges for 300, etc. So its a cost based question for me. I hope its not 2020 but oh well, good things are worth waiting for and my Bridgestone's will last until then.

I don't think it's too soon to start the SM9 thread either. Might as well get that one going. So pointless.
