Do you guys realize that you're calling some of the best and most popular Fairway Woods every made sleepers???

 

That's like calling a Porsche GT, a Bugatti, or a Koenigsegg a sleeper.

I wouldn’t consider it a sleeper but the Nike VR Limited was probably the longest 3w I’ve ever played. Had a beautiful head shape and sound. That thing was a beast.

I think of the F6 baffler as a bit of a sleeper, even though it's from Cobra. It was released separate from the F6 line, and it's a bit of an odd-ball compared to what everybody else was offering, so it didn't seem to be super-popular. I've used it as a hybrid replacement, standard 5-wood, and even as a 3-wood replacement depending on the course-truly one of the most versatile, and useful clubs I've ever owned.

Ping Rapture just because it was pretty low production. Got mine during the Boxing day $99 blowout but were regular $400 or $450 I believe.

For me a Cleveland Launcher DST 13° 3 wood. It was the first x stiff shafted club I ever owned.

Ot has an RIP Alpha in it.

Ask any non-car enthusiast about the names Porsche and Bugatti (not so much Koenigsegg), and they at least recognize the name and would more than likely pick out the car from a lineup.

 

Ask 10 random people at the range if they know what the Adams BTY is, and you'll get blank stares across the board. The fact that an extremely small percentage of people on this forum have adoration for the club doesn't keep it from being a sleeper. If anything it makes it a cult classic, which is like being a sleeper with highest honors!

 

I mean, the average John Q. knowing nothing about the inherent performance of an object, an object that does not outwardly hint at its capabilities nor is aggressively marketed as high-performing, is what this is all about.

 

How does any Taylormade product from the last 15 years possibly qualify (i.e. R7 MAX [extremely marketed line with this particular model labeled as MAXIMUM for Petes sake!]), yet an extremely unknown Adams doesn't?
