Easiest ball to track with mild visual issues

Looking for the best ball model/color to track and find in someone with mild visual issues.

Due to a retina condition, my best vision with glasses is 20/40, and my ophthalmologist says that everything I see is about 1/4 the size of what a normal vision person sees. Because of this, I can barely see or track the ball once it goes more than 180 yards. If my drive goes even a little off the fairway, I often can't find it. (My best round ever was with an eagle-eyed minor league outfielder who could see exactly where every ball went, so I didn't take any lost ball penalties.)

I'm thankful to see as well as I do, but if anyone has suggestions on colors/models of balls that might help me enjoy the game more, I'd appreciate it.

I regularly play with a guy who uses anything but white balls for the same reason; visibility at distance.

The matte red balls are blinding at address but so hard to track in the air for whatever reason.

The neon green balls are actually easy to see on overcast days and because the green is so unnatural, it's easy to spot in the grass.

Yellow works well on blue sky days as well.

Ball choice is your call but those are my observation on the colors.

I find any yellow ball easier to track than white ones.

For me the easiest ball to track/find is the yellow Snell Get Sum. To my eye seems brighter than the other yellow balls I've tried.

You are looking for contrast so different conditions may require different colors, both in the air and on the ground. Against a hazy or cloudy sky, I think a bright yellow or neon green will work best. Against a bright blue sky, a red might be the best choice. One thing to note is a lot of men have a red/green color blindness of some level, so take that into the equation. You might try a Callaway TruVis in red/white or yellow/black...again trying to get some contrast.

Once it gets on the ground, it all depends. We have a lot of pecan trees that drop a yellow leaf with brown spots in the fall. That Truvis yellow/black will get lost in a hurry. Sometimes, the bermuda rough is so deep it doesn't matter what color it is, its' gone.

Yellow but they aren’t all the same. I like the srixon yellow. Orange I can’t see at all.

I went back to white. I picked up prescription Oakley in the golf dark prizm lenses. They make the yellow harder to see than the white.

Really bad vision. "Can't see. Can't hear. But, I can still drive!"

The yellow has been the easiest for me to see. New very bright white also seems to stand out. One guy in our group tried the Volvik Vivid Red. None of us could follow them in the air. Pretty much the same with orange. The Callaway "soccer" balls can be followed in the air but can be difficult to find on the ground.

I really believe each person's vision difficulties can be unique to that person. Just because I can see the yellow better than others does not mean someone with different vision issues would have the same experience.

I've been playing with various colors this season. My answer is: it depends. (this is all based on my personal experience, and shouldn't be interpreted as what others will experience as vision varies by person and typical lighting conditions vary all over the country.)

Yellow / neon-green (i.e. tennis ball color) are somewhat better than white on cloudy days against dark grass. In the sun, when there is glare coming off the grass, I find them to sometime be perfectly camouflaged and considerably harder to find on the ground compared to a regular white ball. In the sky, to me, they're similar to white in most all conditions. On a related note, playing with amber or rose tinted sunglasses makes yellow harder to distinguish from white - though it doesn't hurt the general visibility of the ball. Bright sun glare is one of the (minor) downsides to golf in Colorado.

Matte orange has the best overall visibility to me in both cloudy and sunny conditions, both for tracking in the sky and finding on the ground and best for finding in among fallen leaves. Alas, no balls I like from a playability perspective yet exist in this color.

Matte pink is similar to orange.

Matte red seems hard on my eyes at address - but easy to find on the ground, less easy to track in the sky.

I've gone back to basic white as I value playability more than visibility and I can find them at great prices on the used market. I suspect I'll be in this camp for the foreseeable future, as even if a good matte orange ball were to be released, I'd bet it'll be expensive and not common enough to get good deals in the used market.

That said, I'll use a cheap orange ball for fall leaf season.

I find the Truvis a bit harder to follow than solid yellow.

Yellow works best for my old eyes, some of the hot pink work well too. Hard to find urethane pink balls anymore, I used and kept few sleeves of Bridgestone 330S Paula Creamer model.

I can see the Maxfli Softfli Matte Green ball on the ground as good or better than a bright white ball but I am still hopeless following he ball in the air. To be truthful the ball was so bright it was a bit annoying on the tee so if I play the Softfli I use the Matte White. My main ball is the white DT Trusoft but man can that Softfli roll down the fairway!

The Duo Soft pink is very easy to see. The Duo Soft green is surprisingly more visible to my eyes than the yellow.
