Well I watched the first season and thought probably not going to care for another. But unfortunately Hollywood worked its magic and I’m excited to see what happens in this season. Any thoughts?

I just pre ordered the No Sex Driver.

I just pre ordered the No Sex Driver.

I'm guessing the no sex driver would have a very limp shaft

Now that's a whole bunch of funny right there! Good one!

The critically acclaimed second season that nobody asked for!

The Triton was a joke, Wilson Golf is irrelevant outside of decent irons, and the design they decide on will be as big of a flop as last time.

Rick Shiels should just bring Lucy Robson on the show as a guest and she can swing all of the designs on a simulator. I'd watch that. Still wouldn't pay 3 easy payments of $19.99 for whatever driver won.

Aside from the effort to make it look like a Heidi Klum show about golf what stood out to me is that just about everything has already been done to drivers by every maker including Wilson. The challenge then becomes more about manufacturing costs, quality control and marketing. That is why I thought the "Roswell" effort had the most appeal. Regardless websites like My Golf Spy and others that do comprehensive measurements on CG, MOI and N.A. and going to a fitting shop where they have a Trackman will help more than watching the President of Wilson Golf talk about catching the customer's eye with an interesting sole design as the club sits in the rack. I like Rick Shiels as I have used his reviews to find my current driver (Cobra F6+). The Triton was a disaster not because the driver was junk but because they screwed the pooch on the launch by having the USGA reject the "fin" version. Somehow though my wife is intrigued by this "how it's made" show- I won't argue.

Man...some of those designs? How hard is it:

-Take a simple top view approach from a Titleist driver with exotic material

-Allow for weights to be placed anywhere at the bottom for desired spin-moi tuning

-Square face with some sort of structural marketing approach (jail break hammer head)

-Make it look fast and clean

-Offer the best premium shafts at no upcharge

Done

It seemed like there was one driver that took that approach with the infinity weight track. I don't know how you can even get into that room talking about square designs and magnets though.

They need a new format, this year's version is as boring as last years. The Wilson President too fixated on what the club will look like on the retail rack. Should be focused on innovative technology and how to market it. Much like Callaway has done with the jailbreak technology. Not visible but they sure know how to market it.

Entertaining, but the whole premise is a joke. Nothing that comes from this can possibly be any good (or I have extreme doubts). Meanwhile, Callaway crushed it with the Epic to the Rogue SZ; TM crushed it with M2 to the M3/M4; I'm loving the looks of the TS2/3. I liked my G30 LS and will try out the G400. The current big brands continue to refine a winning formula. As a consumer, I don't see anything possibly coming from this that would make me spend my money on some hokey crap vs. what's tried and true in both the amateur and pro ranks. Right now, I'm as happy as I could be after picking up a cheap 2017 M2.

I agree, these guys are not the marketers and just trying to design a great driver. I figure that's Wilson's marketing team's job to help with market the innovations of the driver.

This. I don't understand why Wilson is trying to always reinvent the wheel. As far as woods go, they seem to have been making ugly clubs for years now. Stop trying so hard and just make a simple high performance wood with good shaft choices at a fair price and I guarantee people will start looking into them. Look at Srixon... They seem to have just busted into the market share, be it a small piece, but they are being paid attention to with some of their latest designs and they are simple AF. All this crazy structure tech and weights and wind tunnels... just make a cool looking driver, I would check it out for sure. Their irons are pretty, the golf balls have been great... stop trying to beat something you can not beat. All these clubs are performing the same for the most part. Make something a Tour player would game and people will buy it. Keep it simple stupid!!!

This "sales first" "innovate second" approach from the top of the Wilson brand is why they are not even in the mix to be a top tier legacy golf brand in the modern landscape. His responses need to be more from the view of the consumer not the sales guy pedaling a product at X profit margin. SAD...is what it is.

Given the fact that the first show produced a total flop, why on earth would it get another go? I didn't make it through an entire episode of the first one unless I needed a nap. Ugh....

Roenick does not help the show, he's obnoxious. I don't really care what a ex hockey player who plays golf thinks about driver design.

Somebody mentioned on here already, but just put a good driver in a touring pros hands and if he wins. BOOM. It doesn’t matter how the hell it sits on a rack because people will be interested. Hell if Rickie Shiels endorses one it will get love from a lot of golf guys

Good for Rick, primetime US exposure can only help his YouTube endeavors.

The show itself seems faster paced than last season, which is a good thing. Hopefully the winner doesn't wind up with a flop thanks to Wilson themselves bungling the product QA work and having the USGA come down hard on them.

The golf channel has to fill space during what is essentially the off-season for golf.

I'd rather bring Big Break back.... I do like Shiels on TV... he seems natural. May wind up with his own spot...
