Island Hills in Southern Michigan. Haven't been there in a few years, but it was really nice.

Just be sure to check if it’s a home football Saturday...busy, and more expensive. But a great recommendation, and it’s hosting next years 2019 US Senior Open!

I’d just keep going into Michigan and play Harbor Shores, Whittaker Woods, or Hawkshead. They’re all cart courses (Hawkshead is very walkable but will charge for the cart whether you take it or not) but, in my opinion, they’re better than any IL course that meets your criteria. Maybe The Course at Aberdeen in Valparaiso, IN, the Warren Course in South Bend, Blackthorn (also in South Bend) or the aforementioned Harborside or Ravisloe.

Yes, it's Ravisloe or Harborside. Harborside literally on a direct highway exit

Probably late to this, but if money is no barrier hit up Chicago Cut for a meal or RPM. Good stuff.

 

The Gwen is a pretty sweet hotel also.
