Q-Star Tour vs AVX vs Project a

Would love to hear from people that have tried 2 or all 3 of these and can share theirs experiences.

My SS is 105, which is not very high, but the lower compression of these balls has kept me away but as the temps drop I am considering trying these as my cold weather balls. I assume the lower compression will help keeping the balls from getting too hard in the cold while still having the premium cover do spin isn’t sacrificed too much.

I have tried all of these balls & all of them would be good for your swing speed...

The AVX being the best, but when price is factored in, I’d go with the QST.

I swing right there with you and have played all 3. In order for me: Qstar Tour, Project A, AVX. The AVX launched too low for me. The Project A spun too much off the driver. The Qstar Tour was just right. It can't be beat for the money when comparing it to the other lower compression urethane balls.

Played all 3 this year as well. For me its AVX, QST, Project A. Project a just spins to much for me. Qst is best all around ball. Avx for me has been great. A little longer off the irons. But still plenty of greenside spin. If cost was a major factor Qst all day long.

I used to be a Project a guy. But, with the price hike combined with the availability of so many other great balls out there...I just haven't played it for a while. The Q Star Tour is very impressive for the price. I love that ball. It does scuff quickly under my assault, though. But, I love it. Have been gaming a box of AVX just recently. It's an interesting ball. My ss is similar to yours. I carried a drive 305 just into the right rough on Saturday with the AVX. It's long for me. But, I can stop the others on an approach shot better. All three are great balls. Give the price, I don't expect to stick with the AVX...when I can game a QST at that low price bracket.

When price is factored in I believe that the QST is the best price/performance ratio ball on the market.

Project A will feel the softest.

The new just releases 2018 QST is the best combination of feel and greenside spin with great distance

Avx is a ball that will help lower your ball flight if you need it and might provide more roll out. Some love it, I was not a fan but to each their own.

For what it's worth we have a similar SS at 105 and all will play well , just depends what you really want. I say load up on the QST if you can find the trial pack right now.

Played all 3 this year. Didn’t like the AVX, launched way to low for me. Not as soft as advertised either. For me The Qst performed better in all areas compared to the project a. Qst is long of the tee plus I had great control around the green with it too. i felt like I was playing a 2 piece ball with the project a, just average results. The Qst is also an excellent wind ball. My last couple rounds I played it was blowing pretty hard and the Qst handled the wind really well. Just bought 2 dozen of the new 2018 version. At $30 a dozen, best value out there.

Ha ha, perspective is everything. At 66, I'm around 90. 105 is high! (And I am lifting weights this winter to try to get a little back.)

I played the AVX this summer. I liked the distance that I got into the wind, which is very important where I play, as many of the longest holes play into the wind.
