    Norse arrived yesterday. Nice!

Sizing for the body - trim but right on. Only nitpick is the sleeve length for us taller folks, could use at least another inch IMO, but will be fine for swinging a golf club, (edit: sleeve length wasn't a noticeable issue while playing at all). Definitely not thick, but don't have a previous model to compare.

Edit: went out for 9 today. Wife drove cart, I walked, but clubs were on the cart. 48 degrees, overcast, damp, cold 10-15 mph wind.

Had Norse over a poly short sleeved golf shirt with a very thin long sleeve Smartwool tee under that. After I got to walking a couple of holes, had to unzip a bit - probably could have gotten by without the lightweight wool tee. But zipped back up once I was back in the wind. Very warm. I could see wearing what I was wearing down to 40 degrees easily for golfing. Norse is definitely not thick, but kept me warm, didn't get cold from non-breathability, and moved well and kept it's profile (didn't balloon up) when swinging golf clubs.

Really glad I saw the tip on it here and Royal Mail took awhile, but it came yesterday and today was the first day I actually needed it so that turned out fine.

    Highly recommend.

Has anyone compared the Ping Norse to the Adidas Climaheat Prime? They both look like they are trying to achieve the same thing but there is a HUGE difference in price? The Ping is £120 whereas the Adidas Retails at £90 but can be found for £20 on discount sites!

I don't have any experience with the Ping Norse, but, the description says water and wind resistant. The Adidas claims neither. but, for the price, I bought the Adidas Climaheat Primaloft full zip jacket. I haven't worn it for golf, yet, but, I can say, I would not wear it alone in rainy conditions, as, the sleeves can soak up water. In wet cold conditions, the Adidas will be a middle layer.

I wouldn't wear the Norse in more than a light drizzle that wasn't soaking in. I have "water resistant" that looks to be a lot more so than the Norse.

I got it for colder temps and it fit the bill so far.

I really quite fancy a Kjus Radiation Jacket. Does anyone have one? If so, what do you think as I’ll have to buy one online André there aren’t any reviews anywhere.

Costco had a Gerry jacket that could do the trick. It is a hybrid style, with more insulation in the body and a stretchy fabric in the sleeves and sides that might work for golf. It does have a hood, so that may be a non-starter for many. It seems to run true to size and fit on the slim side. Best of all it is only $30.

Cut the hood off and still a great deal!!

Some of these Kjus prices are crazy though. Luckily I have a couple of Mizuno Windlites that will last me a while.

Can anyone compare the sizing on the Ping Norse jacket to the fit of the FootJoy lined wool half zip or the Mizuno Windlite sweater? I wear size large in the FootJoy wool half zip, and size XL or XXL in European Mizuno stuff. I'm wondering if the XL would be the correct fit. (I wear size Large Footjoy athletic fit shirts as well)

I’ve not tried one on, but I have picked one up on a hanger in a shop, and I suspect you’re right. A large would fit me well I’m sure which is the same as Mizuno.

I can't directly compare to footjoy as i dont own any- I have some mizuno wind light in xl that fit good in the chest and shoulders and are a bit roomy in the gut. I have the norse in large and it is very slim fitting. I wear large shirts in Nike and UA.

Based on what you listed, an xl will probably be what you want (but I am not sure how the FJ athletic shirts fit or what style you want) The norse is very much a euro fit. Slim in the body, Fits pretty true to size for my wide shoulders. I wish my large had a little longer sleeves but I wouldn't go up because I plan on wearing only a thin layer under it.

Compared to Under armour, nike, or adidas jackets i have had in size large it fits similar in the chest, shoulders and arms and slimmer through the body.

I would prefer it to fit exactly like a UA large but it seems like it will play well

It probably just depends on how much room you need in the belly. I can not have a jacket that folds out at the belly when I bend over to swing, so the large, while slimmer than what I am used to for most brands, should be what I want.

If it ever gets cold enough to wear it while playing here I may change my mind

ETA: I bought an XL norse last year and sent it back because it was a little more roomy than i wanted in the waist. But I would put the Ping XL squarely in between a UA Large and XL in fit

Another jacket that is less expensive that i bought and wore last year from Proquip is this

    https://smile.amazon.com/ProQuip-Golf-Mens-Therma-Jacket/dp/B075749D13/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1539136443&sr=8-3&keywords=proquip

Basically a quilted vest on front and back with thinsulate and windproof sleeves. the sleeves, shoulders and sides are very stretchy. It also is very slim fitting

It worked well in the 45-55 degree range depending on the base layer i had on

I have a Mizuno "warmalite" in Large, bought in USA, and the Norse in Large and they are a similar fit for me.

I'm torn, because I wear XL under armour shirts and they are a little baggy on the sleeves and gut, but the large is a bit too tight on the chest. The under armour XL long sleeve half zip I have fits about perfect.

This reassures me a bit. I think I might have the warmalite (wool exterior with a wind lining)

I have quite a few UA sweater fleece/storm sweaters in xl that fit me fine and several xl other light UA pullovers. I also have several large and xl UA shirts. Sounds like you and i are pretty close in size. The XL a bit baggy, the large slimmer and fit the arms much better. Not tight in the chest for me though.

Im just over 6 feet tall and just under 190lbs and have a 42.5 inch chest and semi wide shoulders and the norse in Large fits well but I have not played in a jacket that slim fitting yet.

Depending on what site you look at some list the norse large as chest size 41-43 and some list 40-42

I think they fit a little on the generous side. I have one from a few years ago in size medium, and I typically am between medium and large in most tops. Assuming the sizing is the same as previous years, I’d suggest sizing down to a Small.

Picked up the Sunice Huxley due to this thread. Got to use it this last weekend and was blown away with how nice that jacket is for late fall/winter golf. Hard to beat for 30 bucks! I'm a medium in Nike, UA, and Footjoy shirts, and the sizing is very comparable.

Great jacket deal and the Kjus Dorian is sweet too as a wind and occasional rain jacket.

My Sunice Huxley arrived today. I ordered a small and I wear a M polo in UA and Nike. Perfect fit, the sleeves are right at my wrists and the jacket portion is tight enough that it is not bulky or sagging. Teeing off early tomorrow in 40-45 degree weather, curious to see how warm this jacket is.

I'm trying my new Greg Norman stuff tomorrow morning and should be +/- 38*F, overcast and misty. I'm going to be layered up pretty well underneath as always, but will get a good read of how these things work in the cold/wind/dampness.

I don't see an actual product line on the tags, other than "Performance" so not sure exactly what I have, so no useful info to pass on other than they were 60% off @ Macys last week. I wore the vest to work today and starting sweating my ba11s off!

Review to follow tomorrow afternoon before LSU/ALA kick off image/nyam.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':nyam:' />

Played my first round in the Kjus Radiation jacket today. 50* with 20+ mph winds. I was EXTREMELY Impressed with how warm, windproof and comfortable this jacket it. Really happy with this piece.

Another jacket that is less expensive that i bought and wore last year from Proquip is this

    https://smile.amazon.com/ProQuip-Golf-Mens-Therma-Jacket/dp/B075749D13/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1539136443&sr=8-3&keywords=proquip

Basically a quilted vest on front and back with thinsulate and windproof sleeves. the sleeves, shoulders and sides are very stretchy. It also is very slim fitting

It worked well in the 45-55 degree range depending on the base layer i had on

Bought this jacket, literally started falling apart after two weeks and ProQuip has been a nightmare to deal with to replace it.

The warmest piece of golf gear that I own is without question last season’s version of the Adidas Climawarm Primaloft jacket. It is essentially a lightweight puffer vest with fleece sleeves. I can really only wear it when I’m riding in a cart—if I try to walk a round in this jacket, it normally burns me out of it before I get to the 2nd tee. Not a great choice when it is raining or snowing, as the fleece sleeves aren’t waterproof at all, but if it is cold, dry, and windy, this thing is a champ. Swing restriction is minimal, and it looks good as well—I wear mine casually more than I wear it on the golf course. My club has this year’s version in now, and it seems to be very similar to last year’s. If I didn’t already have one, I’d buy it again.
