I think I am right in saying that Walton Heath is essentially the home course for the English Amateur Squad so I'd be looking for some of the guys who have graduated through that system to be in the mix here this week.

I think the best pointer from the wagering point of view would be to check on the US open qualifying for the last two or three years. They play 36 holes here in June every year. All the Euros outside the top 50owgr and other qualifiers play.

^^ I'm struggling to think of another player that has suddenly had such an improvement in their putting after being renowned as a below average putter for so long. Its massively impressive and he's reaping the rewards as the rest of his game remains as good as ever.

I find Walton Heath to be a bit of an underwhelming course. I expect Rose & Fleetwood to be battling it out for the win on Sunday.

Why underwhelming?

I think it lacks features and character. Every hole seems remarkably similar. That said, it’s pretty long off the back tees, and will be in good condition, and that’s pretty much all the tour cares about.

I know what you mean. There are a few stretches of long par 4s which definitely merge into one after a while. There's also not much elevation change/shape on the whole complex. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out on TV, as the subtleties in the terrain might get lost, a bit like on links courses.

For me, the killer is the constant drone of the M25. Not that I'll ever be asked, but I think I might turn down the membership on that alone...

I'm curious how the putting stats work out. The greens aren't like modern courses - they're pretty flat but with loads of really gentle undulations.

Anyway, these are all minor irritations in the scheme of things. It's nice to see a proper golf course on the telly.

Is there any place where you can see the pairings that are going to be featured/televised first two days on the european tour broadcasts? I suppose the same pictures goes to every country.

How about Molinari, Fleetwood and Olesen?

Not asking for this event but for events in general. For the PGA tour you do normally get that information, I see no reason why the european tour shouldnt be able to do so too.

Tried to ask the european tour on their feedback page but it lead to something with a captcha that doesnt work. They do not like feedback, apparently

Great to see Wally at the top of the board, still disappointed for him not getting picked for the Ryder Cup but if he keeps up this level of performance then he will surely be a shoe in for 2020.

Good to see Trevor playing well again. Certainly still has the game and the desire to play well, followed him for a few hole last week at St Andrews and he still has a great swing.
