Will you pay to watch Tiger v Phil?

Anyone else think this is headed soon to "postponed"? No new date announced...and never will be.

What a disaster. Maybe I will start a gofundme to produce my own "PPV" of a local match between two 10's. The 10's are the camera crew holding iphones, not the golfers - those are 12s!

Hmmm....I might be on to something.

Ok every time I hear about this it gets worse and worse.

I was certain I was going to pay to watch this.

Then they decided they didn't need to put up their own money.

Then they decided there would be no fans on the course.

Then I decided I'd just go play golf myself.

Every decision made about this thing has been awful. So dumb.

I think it's less interesting after TW's win last month. That win let a lot of his fans exhale and get on with life. He doesn't need to beat Phil to show he's making progress. In the same vein I think the Hero World Challenge will be less interesting this year. Rusty broken Tiger v Shinnecock Phil was arguably at least a competitive match. Resurrected Tiger v over the hill Phil is more likely to be a blowout, and in match play might end in 2 hrs. If it's included in our cable package I might leave it on in a room if anyone visiting for TG wants to watch it.

It's $25 to watch a couple guys who happen to be HOF (both will be soon) trash talking, side betting, playing like most of us play with friends (or should be). You also get to see Shadow Creek a little closer than magazine pics if haven't played there, so that'll be fun.

$25 is what, a twilight nine at a non-dog track, few beers and a burger?

A few of us are going to play in the AM, then have beers watching...if we split as a foursome, it's only $6.50 each.

$6.50!

Each!

No way. I get like a pot pie for that.

Youll see when you like,

Man, cant believe I spent 6 fifty on this and could have had a pot pie.

Nope.

And that's a real "nope".

Might have sneaked some peeks otherwise, might have, but not funding the $10m.

If it was free, the DVR would be queued up and I’d probably watch a bit live. No way I am paying, I gotta think there is money coming from another source as well. Sponsors, a casino, Amazon prime, something with deep pockets.

But yes, it would be MUCH more intriguing if it was their own money on the line, even if it was “just” 100k or so.

I'd pay to watch Tiger. Could care less if Phil was there.

Why? He plays a fairly full schedule (for him) at this point. And if that's not enough, there's a billion YouTube clips of him actually in his prime...

I've never seen Tiger in person. I'd pay to watch him chip around in his backyard if I had the chance. Not a fan of Phil so wouldn't matter to me if he showed up or not.

Up front confession- I'm a big Tiger Fan & have been since day one. As for FIGJAM,Phil, he's a bit too too for me. As for the Event itself, something is beginning to smell a bit. My guess is that some of Phil's unsavory big money Vegas friends have become involved. Tiger's stunning season-ending Tour Championship the season-ending Tour Championship Victory begs the question of this Tiger/Phil Show: "Why Now" or just simply "Why"? Perhaps Phil should drop Tiger & bring in Greg Norman "A Battle of the Over Inflated Egos". Stands down from my soapbox/Beer Keg :stink:

Seems like you lost your way as you were headed to the "I hate Phil thread." :)

"hate"is a pretty vulgar word for simply not being a fan of the old boy.
