10% more aluminium, and a 20% price hike.

better metals to use if you're going to keep jacking up prices. I hear aluminum and immediately think cheap

Am I the only one that doesnt HATE the insert?? I have been thru a couple Camerons lately and just couldnt make anything. I went back to my 2ball both times. If he makes a slant neck fastback (not the global one) or one like JT's putter I will try it, probably not make much with it, resell, rinse, repeat.

March 30, 2019...will be a day of disappointment. I've pretty much given up on Scotty Cameron doing anything his customers actually want.

Same models, different color, different logo and font locations, different colored grip... nothing to get excited about. price bump from $380 to $400.

Can we create a petition against these aluminum inserts? Lord help us if you want a firm putter with actual feedback. Had a 2018 squareback for a week and it was like putting with a pillow.

I think Mr. Cameron quit worrying about what his customers think the day he dumped that manual Bridgeport for those massive CNC machines.

Well it is German Aluminum.

Better? :)

Not the aluminum, just a small amount of the stainless steel is German. America makes great aluminum anyways.

I wouldn't associate aluminum with cheap. Most SC fans love his old putters, which were made of carbon steel. aluminum is about 4 times the price of carbon steel. The 303 CF annealed bar he uses is about 8 to 10 times the price of carbon steel.

The problem isn't the materials, but rather what he's doing with them.

The futura x was a 6061 head and gave great feedback in my opinion. Would love a solid aluminum head like that in some of the newer models like the 6m.

I got to roll the Concept X yesterday, with Pro V1 and V1x balls, and initially thought, hey this insert feels pretty good! A lot firmer than the select inserts. Then I took my 2003 Studio Stainless NP2 out of the bag and this new stuff is not even close to the feel of the old scotty's. Not even remotely close.

DITCH THE INSERTS IN 2019

Not to be controversial but I completely agree. That is one brand I do not "get" at all. I respect Scotty, I've learned a ton from his articles. But I just have zero connection to his products. The head cover collectors in particularly I just have no connection with or concept of how that market exists. I applaud his achievements though, no bigger badass in the business. The man knows how to sell putters and ultimately that's what it's all about. I'm consistently impressed with Scotty, just not connected to the brand.

I miss the Cameron of late 90's early 2000's.

I dont hate it either. I've had a few Camerons and honestly, I prefer the insert. I liked the 2012 Select line, the black ones, but other than that I have never really been impressed. I'll keep the 2016 NP2 I have since my wife bought it for me, but I'm pretty much done with SC. He seems to have been severely missing the mark lately. There are many other brands stepping up their putter game lately for a bit less money and are still great quality.

Literally every manufacturer is making slant, flare, flow or even plumbers neck mallets... Bettinardi, Toulon, Taylormade, Ping... so Scotty would have to follow with this next Futura release, right?

I just have a hard time believeing he’s going to keep putting out all these “toe flow” you tube videos then release 7 new iterations of a face balanced mallet.

But then again, I wouldn’t put money on him changing it up.

I suspect the toe hang mallets are coming. The Futura 5.5M is already in the line. I think we will see the line get the Jet Neck” like on the Global Limited Fastback or a softer bending neck like on the Newport 2.5 on the next models rather than using a short shaft bend like on the Futura 5.5M.

Cameron putters are like 50 year old men. We still think we go it, but it is all over.

Hey I’m 46 ?. That was funny ! I’d buy a Futura 5 with a zing neck and a Napa if they sold one .

I am no fan of his, but he has made two mallets that I've really liked. The 2012 GoLo 5 and, even more so, last year's Futura 5CB. I pulled a stock 35" 5CB and immediately took to it. Simple look, easy set up, felt better than the other Futura offerings, and rolled the ball beautifully. Love the stock grip as well. I can wait to see if it's revamped but if not, I'll probably pick up a 2017.

I got very sour on SC when I bought into the Cameron Club hype. I purchased the membership and then for a solid year tried to get items only to be shut out each and every time. Maybe I was just unlucky. But, there were many times that I had items in my cart only to be notified that they had sold out before I could enter my credit card number. I called the custom shop only to be told, better luck next time. On a couple of occasions I saw the items with live pictures on Ebay seconds after they were listed for sale. I contacted those guys who told me that they had early access. Of course they were selling some of the items 10X what they paid.....if they paid at all!

SC will never again come out with an OTR black putter because he makes waaaaay to much money refinishing. He will never make an OTR slant or plumbers neck mallet again because he wants those to be limited editions where he can charge a premium. He claims the 5.5M is JT inspired while it is nothing like the putter he designed for JT. His "original" designs are hideous i.e. Original Futura, 2018 Concept, Detour.
