3 months ago. -9 63 on a sr 74/133 course. Just a magical day that i dare say (hopefully not) may never be repeated. Although this sounds ridiculous, I'm more proud of the 71 i shot on the same course in our open amateur event. Never played the course in such high winds (gusts of 70kph) and it was setup brutal for the tournament. Daily scratch was 78 and i won by 7 strokes from 2nd. Only missed 2 shots all day and they were from club selection, every strike was pure. Not sure I'll have a day like that again

From 2000 to 2008, I shot lots and lots of rounds between 68 and 64. Those were fun years. But I didn't quite understand my game back then. I thought I did, but I didn't. The 64 I had 10 birdies. That was cool, birdieing more than half the holes. Course was 72.0/132.

My best round, though, was probably a bogey free six under 66 on a golf course rated 74.6/139. I did not miss a shot all day. The best part was that it was with a group of guys from a golf website that I used to spend some time at that rhymes with blombsmodmolf, com LOL!

Mine is a lot more pedestrian than many, being a 73 on a 71.4/126 course. It was early-mid September, 2012.

Played my career round July of this year!

Shot 67 with once in a lifetime perfect storm kindof stats... I hit every fairway and only missed 1 green. I had 30 putts, but missed a couple easy putts that I should have made. This was on a course with rating/slope of 72.8/128. For some reason, this course had always let me get to 70, but never below it. I just loved the round because I had gone out with a buddy to just mess around and have fun. In fact, we had actually only paid for 9 holes, but after shooting 33 on the front we decided to risk it and keep playing.

6 months ago. Usually don't break 40 for 9 holes but this particular round I was 2 under after the front 9 with 4 birdies... let's just say the back 9 wasn't as kind. Finished with a 76.

Been a while, that's for sure lol. Grade 12 - we had a spare during 2nd period followed by lunch, so motored out to the course to get 9 holes in. Started with 4 birdies in the first 5 holes. Finished up at 32 (-3) for the nine. Ended up being a quick 9, it wasn't busy for some reason so we just played through to get the 18 in. shot a 34(-1) on the second nine (front) for a 66 (-4). Motored back to school and made it just in time for 3rd period. Was a blessing in disguise, had to hurry to get back so there was no room for thinkin' or analyzin', just hit n' go.

A solid 15 years ago, but that memory don't fade.

Tournament 67 last year was probably my career highlight. Second day to come back and defend my club championship. (My home course is a 69 rated easy track though)

I choked it away in a playoff this year for the opposite perspective.

The best round I've ever played though was a -2 71 on a 73.6 126 slope course. It stands out to me because I hit a career best 16 greens on an 'away course' and left 4-5 putts out there. Best day of ball striking I've had. It was boring actually as I remember it haha.

Took me about 10 years before shooting my career round which was 5 under. After that the best I have gotten was 1 or 2 under.

  • 2 weeks later...

12 years ago in a tournament ..... par 72 course about 6900 yds....bogey free 64...-4 on the front and -4 on the back. Had another 64 the next year in another tournament but it was on a par 70 shorter course so the -8 is my career round.

I'm 72 years young now so those scores will not be repeated :swoon:

2012

72

Bogeyed a typically easy 18th for that even par round too. Short par 4, easy green EXCEPT if they put the pin in back where it gets really narrow and up a slope. Was praying the pin wouldn't be there as I rode off 17 green. Looking back, worrying about it was a bigger mistake than any shot I took on that hole. Totally psyched myself out before putting the tee in the ground.

Haven't broke 75 since.

Heck, I've hardly broke 80 this year. Kids, work, forgot how to swing a driver, you know that old song and dance...

Best 18 hole round was probably 6 years ago now. 4 over 74 from the tips on a pretty difficult par 70. I've shot even par for nine holes a number of times over the years with the most recent being last fall. I walk and carry when I play and its hard to finish strong. Usually by the 15th hole my legs are shot.

12 years. I doubt I'll ever equal that round. I just can't dominate the par 5's like I used to.

Today. Shot 78, 6 under my handicap.

One birdie, no double bogeys or worse. In retrospect my driving and irons were awful, hit two balls into the water but wedges and putting went like nothing I’ve ever done. 28 putts including 5 or 6 tap-ins after good wedge shots.

Around 10 years ago I met a buddy at a local course to give him some initial lessons as he had just bought his first set and was about to take up the game. After about an hour with him on the range, I decided to play nine and talked him into joining me. I made a hole in one on the 2nd hole (my first and only to this day). I ended up having a great putting day and shot a four under 32. I was around a 15 'cap at the time lol. We still laugh about it today.

Twenty years ago, on consecutive weekends, I shot 69, then 68.

Never duplicated this effort, and haven’t broken 70 since.

I’m 54 and my low of 68 was three or four years ago.

In the “There’s always time” category, my 71 year old husband shot his age a few weeks ago and it was also his lowest round, ever. He’s already let me know that I need to bury him with the scorecard.
