Did Charles Howell iii leave PXG?

Saw pxg tweets this weekend for cimb classic and realized Charles Howell was not in the tweet. Visited website and he is no longer there. At the tournament he wore pxg hat and is playing their clubs. Can someone offer some insight on this topic?

Chuck The Sticks is a club ho. He switches when something is better for him and makes no apologies for it. He's not beholden to anyone. So if he switched, it wouldn't be shocking.

He's made nearly 36M in tour earnings, a huge amount of off course money, I think he can afford to play what he likes. He hasn't won but two tournaments in his career, but the tour has been his private ATM.

Maybe he goes back to Bridgestone. They have new stuff coming up in the pipeline to be released next year. He does reside in Georgia, Bridgestone is in Georgia. I'm sure that would have nothing to do with it, but I bet he still has some relationships with them.

I saw he was playing a TS3 driver, TS2 fairway, but still using the PXG 0311T Gen2 irons. Not sure about wedges or putter.

Titleist drivers and 3 wood! Not often that free agents went into a Titleist driver over the last few releases. Nice to see for a Titleist geek like me.

Appreciate all the feedback. If he is looking for a club contract that pays, titliest is not the route to go. I can see him going back to Mizuno who is on fire with 2 recent wins. I will wait and see what happens without further speculation.

Won plenty of ca$h in the meantime, but not many trophies.

I agree with you on that. What I think happened with him was he got too mechanical with his swing sorta like Luke Donald did. I was thinking he was with Mizuno for a pretty good while

Ballstriking always seems to be on point. He never seems to make any putts when they actually show him on tv.

I'm no Leadbetter fan but I have a hard time being critical of him and his work with CH3.

Changing clubs every other week probably doesn’t help Chucky achieve his potential. The best players find something they like and stick with it, perhaps only tinkering with specs. 18 years as a pro and two victories...says it all.

He still has family ties to Augusta where he grew up. His father is a highly respected pediatric surgeon & is the Surgeon in Chief at Children's Hospital of Georgia.
