Did Charles Howell iii leave PXG?

Changing clubs every other week probably doesn’t help Chucky achieve his potential. The best players find something they like and stick with it, perhaps only tinkering with specs. 18 years as a pro and two victories...says it all.

He’s been with pxg for a couple years and it’s possible it was more them than him ending the deal. Switching clubs frequently hasn’t hurt Christie Kerr, I also don’t think many pros are switching as often as it appears.

Chunky just doesn’t putt well or play well enough to close out tourneys

He can't putt. That's why he has two wins. The guy who hits it well and putts the best is the guy he wins. He never putts the best.

CH has been in the position to win many times and just couldn't finish the job....with the putter. He's got 16 seconds along with 90 Top 10's. That's a lot, BTW.

.....and therefore he has made A LOT of ca$h!!!

Super nice guy by the way. I think he was with MIzzy irons fora good while, and always was know to have new woods in the bag. I am not certain it is his putting alone, that keeps trophies out of his hands.....i suspect psychologically a switch turns when it's Sunday and he is close to the lead. I mean hell, it takes adequate putting Thursday-Saturday to make the money he has. i think on Sunday, back 9 his whole paradigm obviously shifts and he no longer comfortable with his game, across the board,

I followed CHIII for 14 holes at this years Quicken Loans - the tourney Molinari lapped the field in. CHIII was ballstriking around that course like he could win, he just wasn’t converting. He started to get pretty frustrated and it seemed to carry over into his scores. I followed Molinari during his final round 63 (?), and between those two it was an absolute clinic.

Not sure how old this is. Snagged off of johnnygolfwrx's instagram. CHIII with the Mizuno bag. Cant be that old, looks like he's wearing SLs??

That photo is a few years old. I thought that when I first saw it as well and then did some investigating.

The way he is with switching and testing clubs, he’s be a perfect candidate to go the club free agent route, like the Nike guys have done.

His problem is he is not getting the nike money they are getting for staying free agents. he needs to sign somewhere.

He's made nearly 36M in tour earnings, a huge amount of off course money, I think he can afford to play what he likes. He hasn't won but two tournaments in his career, but the tour has been his private ATM.

earned over $1.25m for 18 straight seasons (the talking heads say $1m but they're lazy) ....what I found amazing is that he finished 2nd 16 times

CH3 consistent with making cuts & Top 10 finishes, hence the career earnings.

Another example would be Na who got just his 2nd career win earlier this year. He passed $25MIL in career earnings.

Not to jack the thread, but it’s definitely amazing to see there is money to be made by more than just the man holding trophy each Sunday.

CH3 has been a cool follow for me since I had an interest in a golf tournament’s final standings. Maybe he reminded me of my favorite Nick @ Nite show Gilligan’s Island. I don’t know. Lol

Just looking at the pictures on Getty Images the last set of images of CH3 has him with a Titleist TS2 fairway wood. Looks like it is a move to Titleist! If so, welcome to the Team Chucky.

Dana Dahlquist just posted a pic of CH3 hitting balls on the range for the Mayacoba and he is wearing a TITLEIST hat. I guess that answers our question. CH3 to Titleist. Heard it here first....I think.

Here is the pic

To add further credibility to my post, I messaged Dana Dahlquist directly simply saying "Titleist?" and he replied "YES"

While it's true that he's listed on Titleist's Tour page, it's just for the Pro V1 at this point. As far as I know, he's always used the Pro V. I'm going to bet that he uses the AP2/3 irons, with the AP3 3 and 4 irons. Oddly, as one of the world's foremost ball strikers, he seems to gravitate toward GI clubs.

I'll put my nickel on CBs with a T-MB long iron or two.

Always love seeing what CHIII is playing. Dude is such a gearhead.

If he plays CBs he will be one of the only tour players doing so. Sometimes I wonder why titleist still makes them when they aren’t a big seller to the public abd have minimal tour use.

It's a valid point, but my favourite Titleist irons of all time were the 690.CB. Just such great clubs.

I played both 716 and 718 CBs abd like them. Their staff either goes ap2 or mb and some mb are old models
