Just like the title says, what’s your favorite long iron replacement and driving iron all in one? Not a one trick pony, but something that can replace your 3-4 iron from the fairway just as easily as find fairways from the tee box.

Cally x proto utility. Cheap and (for me) money from tee or fairway.

I guess I should include mine. Love the Adams DHy, especially the older model marked with “Proto” and black/ grey/ white color scheme. Most versatile long club I’ve ever hit.

Back when I used it a lot, I loved my RBZ 3-iron as an all around club. I'm not sure where/how it fits into my bag now, maybe I could rotate out my 4H for it, but my tee shots with my driver & woods are good enough now that I can't really justify it.

I was previously playing the Maltby HDI and didn't like it from the fairway. The Cobra King utility is much more versatile and forgiving for me.

Ive got a J15DF Shafted with Nippon SPB X. It’s a weapon club. In short it has been the best 3i I’ve ever played. In a players profile too.

I've switched between the MP18 Fli-Hi 2 and 3 irons for most of the season but have settled for the 3.

Both are great clubs but I find the 3 to be more versatile in that it's consistently good off the fairway and can get it out there from the rough too. Off the tee both are sneaky long with their piercing trajectory but I've found myself using the 3 quite a bit recently.

I suppose it's a result of better course management, using it on the short par 4s at the courses I play to lay short of the trouble, on par 5s in place of my 3 wood, on some of the longer par 3s instead of hitting a maxed 4.

I know they have mixed reviews in terms of their forgiveness but I haven't noticed anything drastically worse than the King Utility I used occasionally last season.

The original 2012 JPX Fli Hi 19 with a Modus Tour 130S. High towing bombs 225. No bulge and roll, so reacts like my 4 iron only flies the ball higher and the same length shaft as a traditional 3 iron make it silly easy to hit well. Even my 2018 CLK with the Evo Speeder Hybrid 75S couldn’t knock it out of the bag for more than a bucket of balls.

I've got a hi-fli 3 that I added to my set of JPX Forged. The one issue I have with that club is that if I hit it a little high on the face it stings like heck and comes off a little dead. Seems odd, really. So, I'm just a little more careful when I tee a ball up with it. My 4 iron from my JPX set has been more butter for me. Great club.

My old UDI 2 iron with an Aldila RIP 105x was pretty good too, but the p790 looks and feels much better.

I have a 20* ft worth hi with the kbs v. Awesome teed up or off the deck. Recently replaced it with a couple srixon u65's last summer. Goes a little higher, feels hotter off the face, and less "clicky" than the ft worth.

I used to use a DHy as well that I liked, but I got a Pro Mini that I really like and I don't see anything knocking it out of the bag anytime soon. That DHy was pretty nice though.

I made the same exact switch. I was having trouble with hooking the DHy, but am able to work the Pro Mini both directions (when I put a proper swing on it), and hit it higher. Plus, I made some changes in the top end of the bag and the 23° Pro Mini fit my gaps better than the 21° DHy... plus I hit the Mini a little higher and softer landing. The DHy is sitting in my spares bag in the basement though, ready to get back in the game at a moments notice.

Man, I am going to miss Adams hybrids.

The Adams Pro Mini/Pro Black is my favorite hybrid of all time. Just sets up so we’ll and is compact. Man I miss Adams. . .

Yeah, the higher launch on the mini makes it like exactly what I want. Dang, I didn't even know Adams didn't exist anymore until you guys said you miss em and I looked it up. I bet a lot of people miss Adams. Do you guys know why they stopped making equipment?

I just started using an old Ping Rapture 3i about a month ago, it's the dog's balls. Straight as a pin off the tee, about 210-220, and reliable off the turf as well.
