Best Cleveland iron set ever made? Opinions please

My vote as well, loved those clubs.

 

Probably biased because they were my 1st set of real irons and also because they were my only set of Clevelands. However, I loved those irons and they were so solid.

588TT irons. Great looking, soft feel off the face and good distance. Only downside was after a few years the badge inserts on the back fell off most of them.

If they made a CBX-T set slightly longer heel to toe than the 585's with no offset than I would vote for those.

Had a set of CG4 Tours that i regret getting rid of. Absolutely loved them.Ended up giving them to a co worker after I had the thought that it was time to get fit into a proper set of irons vs off the rack. Juiced monitors and haywire specs led to a couple years of terrible golf. I have since moved on but i learned my lesson to get a reputable fitter vs some kid at a big box store.

 

Keep having the thought that one day I will swipe those CG4's back when we are at a customer tournament...

It would seem I have a terrible memory! After doing some google image searching and strolling down memory lane it occurred to me I actually had the CG2 Cleveland irons. Wow what a great set that was - nice clean looks, topline, head shape and some good forgiveness too.

588P's Nice players cavity, David Toms used a set when he won the PGA, I had a raw set sophomore year of high school and of all the clubs I've sold that's the one set I wish I still had.

I just re gripped again with some Winn mid size dri tacs and I love my Cleveland cb 588 o replaced my 4 and 5 with Callaway apex I won’t lie but for scoring it’s dependable and beat feel if any club I’ve played. I’m a 1 hc

Very original 588 and 588P irons. Available in BeCu, melonite, satin, chrome, and raw. Never see anything like that today.

 

CG1 Black pearls are nice as well as the 588 Endo Forged MBs from 2013 or so.

Personally, I really liked the CG16 Tour irons with lighter DG SL R300 shafts. These irons lost out to the Callaway X20 Tours, which I played for eight years. (Got an X20T demo set in a 2011, a couple of years after the model went out of production.)

 

I tested out the CGs about two months after the X20 Tours arrived, but decided to stay with the Xs.

Don’t hesitate on those 588. One of the best blades ever produced and still hold up to everything on the market today. I’m more of a fan of the MB than the CB. The most unique thing about them is the wide grooves. They were so easy to clean and provide good spin
