It’s not as crazy as you think. If it works for you the go for it but I haven’t seen anyone with a full set. Maybe, one bag with 3 tops in there.

I’ll put it like this, if people have full iron sets of those taylormade sgis or those Ping g400s, then why not?

Just make sure you’re getting fitted and the clubs will hit numbers. Buying off the shelf can leave you a 30 plus yard gap between your gap, pitching, and sand wedges.

I have played a full set of 716 tmb (4-W). I liked them very much, but have been pondering selling them (for no good or rational reason, just too many sets).

Here's how I see them - I went to a TaylorMade demo day this spring, and tried them against the P790's. I didn't see any performance difference and the rep looked at me like I was nuts to consider swapping TMB for the 790s.

Awesome....just finished year 2 with my 716 TMB's. Usually I 'need' to try something else by now but they are that good. They feel forged, great feedback and forgiving. I love that they don't ding up like a forged club.

I play 3-AW 718 with the Project X PXi shafts. I really enjoy the unique feel of the hollow head- Shaft mix. I think they are the best of all the player distance irons available. Great trajectory, easy to hit and control long irons as well as precise dependable short irons. Look super behind the ball and in the bag. They are also durable if that’s a box for you that needs to be ticked

I am starting to feel like I need something with more forgiveness than my MP-53s so went to my local PGASS to check out the hot new releases (i500, 919 Forged/Tour). For better or worse I put a very big premium on the way the club sits/looks behind the ball. Well neither the Ping or any of the current Mizunos really did it for me. I kept wandering around and ended up picking up the AP2 and of course, they looked perfect. Hit a few but for whatever reason, didn't care for them at all. Was about to leave but noticed they had a 718 T-MB 7-iron sitting there too so I picked it up on a lark.

I couldn't have liked it more. Given Titleist's release schedule it doesn't look like these are going to go on sale anytime soon so now I'm left to figure out how to get these in the bag without risking a divorce... :smilie_Titleist:

They are great clubs! I have been using them for a few years now, coming from AP2. They are so forgiving I still get surprised on the course. They are lower spin heads than AP2 and most other clubs in that size. So make sure u get a shaft that spins enough. I use a 2-9 set and have no complaints, the PW actually went a little too far

Well, I’ve had the 716 T-MBs to the course three times now. I’m impressed. They are at least a full club longer than anything I’ve ever hit and they sure are easy to hit straight. At address they remind me of the 690 MBs I used to play years ago.

If I had to say something bad about them, I guess I would have to point out the sound at impact. They don’t sound like blade clubs despite strongly resembling them in optics.

All things in, I would recommend these clubs. I find them pretty to look at, easy to hit and longer than they logically should be.

I played a full set for a couple of years and I found them as good as anything else I have played. Sold them this year just to try something newer, but could have played the set for longer.

Honestly. Yes. Full set.

I got the 3 iron with a c-taper and was hooked. Soooo long and straight with great flight.

Got the whole set. Played 2 rounds and just flat hated them anything higher lofted than 7iron. So different than my prior Wilson FGV4. Where the FGV4 wanted me to work to hit it high, the T-MB wanted me to work to keep them down.

I realized this on a windy day where I started hitting flatter shots trying to keep the T-MB down. Then I started just dotting pins and fell in love with the short irons more than any part of the set.

The sole is so thin. The head just slices through the turf. I learned to take the dollar bill divot in front of the ball, and my iron game took off.

The T-MB look just like a blade, but don’t hammer you off center. They default is a high ball flight that suits some. When you try to hit them like a real blade (controlling vertical trajectory), you realize they do everything you ever wanted and make ur misses suitable.

Basically, these irons forced me to play my irons the way they should be played, but save my butt when I’m around, but not on the sweet spot. The things are absurdly good at limiting the over cooked lateral miss, and they hold distance on the misfits.

So I did a fitting at a Titleist Thursday last week. Long story short, I went with the AP2’s for 6-iron down but knew I needed some help in the 4 and 5. I went back and forth between the T-MB and the AP3 and ultimately I found very little difference between the two for me and my game so I chose the AP3 due to the lower cost.

I really like my Srixon combo set. I really love my Tmb 3i that I use as my driving iron. Im seriously contemplating a full set Tmb or combo Tmb/cb set. Ugh
