What putter did you just buy ?

Yeah that's kind of what I thought. I'll probably just deal with it over the winter and if I still feel like it needs to lose an inch by next year, buy a new Tank grip.

So my 38" Marxman Tank arrived yesterday and after a bit of an adjustment period on the home carpet putting green, I started hitting the ball stupid straight and on line, over and over and over again. This thing is not elegant but man is it easy to line up and stroke.

 

Here's my problem: with a sweatshirt on the butt end of the club kinda sits on a bit of clothing. I doubt this is an anchoring problem, but I do see it as a bit annoying. I'm thinking that chopping the club down to 37" would solve that problem without losing the counterbalancing properties of the putter.

 

Does anyone know if it's possible to remove the Tank SuperStroke grip without having to cut it? It's about 4 inches longer than a standard SS grip. The last time I asked Golf Galaxy to save a grip the guy acted like it'd be a feat, even though it's one of their listed services.

 

Also, I don't have an air compressor. I guess I could go buy a cheap one and try it myself.

roasts and turkeys. Also farm stores for livestock inoculations.

I just got this old Ping Anser from Play It Again Sports. I’ve always wanted to try one. I don’t know how old it is, but it seems pretty cool to me. I might have to get a bigger grip for it, though.

I just bought a restoration project. A first gen TeI3 Newport. I have wanted one of these since I started playing golf (the same year this came to market) and finally made it happen. It's a little rough now but hoping BOS can make it pretty again. It will be a gamer, so minor imperfections won't bother me and I was once told shiny putters don't make putts. Would post pics but I seemingly pretty dumb and can't figure out how to upload to "My Media" and don't have a URL for the photos. Oh well. Plenty of pics on this site of that putter.

For what it's worth, I had a new Ping Zing 2 in the mid-late 90's that had the same grip.

I just bought a TP Collection Juno (the black with the rusty look). I'm actually surprised that the "insert" actually seemed to just be a piece of aluminum that was pressed into a little machined pocket in the face, rather than the polymer insert of the Spider Tours. Pleasantly pleased by that because the feel is much better. More firm and a lot more feedback. My #1 complaint with the Spiders was they felt dead off the face and lagg putting was very hard.

 

Getting fit in a few weeks so who knows if it'll stay in the bag.

I just picked up a Toulon Garage Columbus design that I have been wanting for awhile! I am a big Buckeye fan and I had to have it! I have it all decked out in as much Scarlet and Gray as I can get! They truly feel better than a Scotty in my opinion. I think the Cameron's have gone downhill since they started putting the inserts in the face so I have been reluctant to buy a new one.

I believe it's aluminum head and copper tungsten weights. I've MacGregor response black putter "S" hosel steel carbon with custom brass insert face by myself.

Picking up my first Scotty today after work, studio select Newport 2 mid slant, like the look of the slant vs plumbers, gonna give it a go, same shape as my current gamer. Looks in great shape for 150 cad, excited to get it. Maybe send for re-mill and new paintfill over the winter depending on the condition when I see it.

Didn't "just" buy it, but the Odyssey Metal X Milled Rossie that I bought about 2 months ago has solidified it's spot in the bag going forward. I may keep one of my ProType #9's as a backup, but the Rossie has been amazing lately.
