Iron and shaft recommendation

I'm looking to buy a new set of irons but having difficulty deciding on what I want and with what shaft. I've only ever been fitted once earlier this summer so these are the only numbers I have to go by:

 

JPX 900 forged 6 iron (28 degrees I believe) with project x 6.0 shaft

-6 iron swing seed: 95 mph average

-6 iron carry: 195 yards

-Spin was 5800-60000 from what I recall

 

Currently I'm playing Titleist 716 AP2 standard lofts, +1/2 length and 2 degrees upright with KBS C-taper S+ 125 g. I have always been a very high ball hitter and would like to bring it down, even using these C-tapers I don't like how high I hit it. As for irons I'm only interested in a new set of AP2 718, Mizuno JPX 919 forged or a combo set with tour short irons, or TM p760s once they come out. JPX 919 forged don't fit my eye as well as the 900's did at address but feel the tours might not be forgiving enough. AP2s are great I would be more so changing shafts. TM haven't been able to hit yet but this set seems perfect for my game as I hated the 790s (too long and big gaps).

 

Anyone have recommendation on what iron and shaft combo could fit me best for lowering ball fight? Have tried x100's but they were spinning too much and I don't want to go to a 130g shaft either. When I was fit they recommended I buy the project x 6.0 with Mizuno JPX 900 forged but I didn't like how long the blade length was on these and really wanted the AP2s. After a year using them I like them and hit them well but I'm still hitting these too high. Would the project x 6.5 help lower my ball flight? I like the weight at 125g better I just want to make sure they aren't too stiff. I'm not looking for more distance with my irons as my length is fine.

PX6.5 shouldn't be too stiff at all based on those numbers.

 

Another good one is Nippon Modus3 125x, they're quite stout and low spin/launch but still feel great.

Sounds like you want 718 Ap2's, so stick with those if that's what fits your eye.

 

Agree on both the PX 6.5 and Modus 125x recommendations in the 125 weight range for your SS.

 

The 716 Ap2's were known to be high launchers, yes?

Do the 718's launch lower than 716's? Hit 718's and love the feel but was using bad shafts so couldn't accurate numbers from these. Golf galaxy is the only place I can test clubs and they don't have shafts with +1/2 and 2 deg upright for me to test outside of Mizuno clubs. I've never hit the Modus but heard those were more mid launch so I have stayed away. Also would like to wait and try out TM p760

The modus 125 is the only one of the lineup that's truly low launch.
