Mizuno MP-30

Love these irons! Picked up my set last year at a yard sale for only $45. They feel great and even can be quite forgiving if hit well.

I just found my 2nd set- I loved my 1st set but they were pretty beat up when I bought them. This set is near mint. 6-PW, S300. I found an extra MP52 for a 5 iron with a Project X 5.5.

All I know is that I do my lowest scoring with this set. The good shots are great, the bad shots tell you exactly what went wrong without killing your hands.

Consistent, predictable distance- no jumpers, even the mishits of the same type feel consistent (e.g. toe hits, thin hits, etc.). Trajectory and shaping - workability is great, both left and right, high and low.

Great from every lie. Incredible for partial shots, short game and chipping, all clubs.

This is the best part: I feel like this is the iron set for anyone who wants to get better, period. For whatever reason, I feel like this club not only favors, but encourages the right moves in a golf swing. I've been working like crazy to stop my early release, and this club does not let you get away with a flippy swing. But when you do get it right, it's lights out. This club is not so penal like a true blade that it will discourage you from the game. On the other hand, it has that special quality that makes you want to hit a better shot even after hitting a good shot. It's an addicting set.

I'm not sure how much has been improved from this 11 year old model, and for the prices you can get for these, perhaps the ultimate bargain in irons.

I just replaced my MP-30's with MP-54s. So far, so good. 54s are more forgiving but feel even better than the 30s.

I picked up a set last year for $40. Having played TP-19's for most of my career the MP-30's really have a great feel and I find them very forgiving.

I have been playing these for about 6 years and while I like them, I want to get fitted and get into a newer set. I will keep these around since the are still in great shape, but want to try out some newer technology.

I’m reviving an old thread. I can’t seem to find the head weights on the 30’s anywhere. I have a set that I’m resurrecting and I’m trying to compare them my 33’s.

It’s 2021 and I just bought these classics for.... $225 shipped. Am I crazy? Probably. Am I jealous of the guy who found them for $45? Not if they hit near as good as all these reviews (minus 1) say they do. I’ll be one happy customer. I actually haven’t played golf in many years but want to get back into it. I did play quite a bit and actually worked at 3 different country clubs so I could get free golf when I was young and poor. That said I was a quick learner back then, but was a bit of a picker with a lot of thin hits and low trajectory. That was a big problem with the extra bounce on my beginner clubs. That said the original shafts on these might also help get my ball up compared to the stiffer flex? I’ll find out Monday when they get here. I hope (pray) I’m not getting in over my head with player cb. But if they turn out to be no good for me, maybe I can pawn them to you guys....
