Mizuno Mp 53 vs mp 18 sc

I know the MP 53s have sort of a cult following! I’ve never played them, went form Mp 52s to Mp 25s, and now mp18 sc. Im just curious if anyone has directly compared the 53’s and the 18sc’s? Is the 53 more forgiving? Better or worse feel? Any feedback is appreciated!

I think the MP-53s are more forgiving, have better feel, and seem to be in the upper tier in terms of reputation along with the MP-32s and MP-60s, whereas the reaction to the MP-18 SCs has been mixed. The MP-53s have a slightly thicker top line and a longer, but not substantial, blade length.

I found a set just needing a slight push to pull the trigger!!

Just hit the 18s today and they are fantastic. The 53s are good too, but the 18s are really pretty and they seem to have cleaned up the offset on the PW. Looks terrific. You can't go wrong with the 53s if you can get a good price, but if money is no object, 18s it is.

 

Not to thread jack but any other MP iron out there with a reduced offset PW???

MP53 far more forgiving than the MP18 SC. Noticeably easier to launch. They have a cult following because they are one of the easist MP irons to hit.
