This place is strict!!

I placed a classified ad today (I've done many) and just as I saved the ad, I realized I forgot to put the price in. Within seconds, I edited the ad to include the price. Shortly thereafter I get a warning from the BST mods that I'll be suspended if I do this one more time. I guess typos weigh the same as more serious rules violations. Does a human make these decisions or is the software sending these warnings out? The warning itself indicated a "BST Rules Violation" but did not specify what rule was violated. I suspect the forum software is sending the warnings. Anyway, one more typo and I'm suspended! I won't be missed, I fear. ?

They used to be more lenient, but as the site grew they had to become more strict. Volunteer mods don't have tons of time to walk people through reading and following rules. When mixed with a general disregard for rules that a lot of folks think hiding behind a keyboard affords them, you get what's going on today.

It is quite strict. I got a 24 hour ban for typing the name of a certain weasel haired world leader.

Actually, you were warned for completely deleting the contents of your closed listing. This is the second time you've been warned for this violation. It had nothing to do with editing your ad.

The reason for this rule is that unscrupulous members would delete the contents of their listings in the hope of skirting the 30-day relisting rule. So we had to put the "no deletion" rule in place.
