Cobra's new King F9 Speedback Driver, Woods, Hybrids and Irons (NO BUY SELL TRADE POSTS)

I like the new line. The design really does not bother me, but they are not clean like others. I have the f7's and these are a step sideways looks wise, but should be a step forward performance wise.

Most likely the complaints on the missing elements are due to them being pre production units. I images are also shopped to bring out detail in the dark values. Prob why the carbon and metal trans inion looks weird - IMHO..

I am fairly new here, but the universal obsession with form over function is strange to me. Looks are semi important, but it seems as though people here write off a product on looks alone with no regard for how it performs...

Obviously, until we get to hit them, all of the claims are academic, but I am quite excited to hit these irons. The claims they make about performance and design seem to suit me very well, and the looks are just about irrelevant.

For the record, I don’t hate the looks, I just don’t feel strongly about them either way.

Solid results. I agree the feel and sound are awesome when I hit it the other day. I actually like look its aggressive prob appeals more to the younger folk. I'm 40 years old so I guess I just want to be young :busted_cop:

Awesome Review

Cobra have quietly stolen the thunder from the Ping and Callaway hype machines that are ramping up for their launches

I am betting this one is super competitive and the 'sleeper' driver and fairway of 2019 !

I like the irons. Been playing the Cobra one lengths for two seasons now and for me - they just work.

I actually like the look but even if I didnt, I am not one that really cares how the bottom of the club looks. I get that other people do and thats cool but for me if it makes me better, I'll play it.

Glad I skipped the F8 generation. Loved the BC, F6, and F7, tried the G400 instead of the F8 this year and it has been great. But looking forward to a HTH on this one with the G400. It looks really nice IMO, and I love the carbon wrap and the way the sole curves. Looks really sleek. Not interested in the irons, love my Pings and won't be changing for a long time. Just got the F8+ fwy to replace a really old F6 baffler so all set there. But driver is always worth tinkering with each year.

Hybrid looks good, fwy wood looks awful in this pic, driver in white looks ok, have to see it all in person to really get a feel for it.

Are the claims true? Would you bag it?

I can’t honestly answer much about the driver excerpt for its looks and feel. The one I played with wasn’t close to my specs. I will say the fairways woods were awesome. I’m not sure if the irons I used are a new release or not but the all black forged irons were super cool. I hit a bunch of great irons with them.

Disagree that the bio cell looking bad. Yea, the bio cell+ was different (still one of my favorite drivers), but then when TM did the mixed crown with the M1 and M2 many raved about how great a looking club it was.

I agree, I thought the Bio Cell Line was the best "Crown" design they had (appearance wise).

HUGE Cobra fan...but I do have to say...I think they made a mistake. Website shows these as be available AFTER the new year??? January 18, 2019???

I coulnd't pre-order my F8 til around 12/15 of last year. Don't think I got it until around Jan 10 or so? Pretty sure I was waiting at least 2-3 weeks. 1/18 doesn't seem too out of line from the norm.

im always looking for the "it club." The "it" club means this: technology on the club should be a functional design (meaning i want to see machine numbers of increased speeds on the dragonflys and turbolators and all that nonsense), and it should play as well as any other top-level club. I dont need a twist face to fix my mistakes, but if the whole golf world decides its an obvious improvement, put it on my "it" club.

I don't like things that exist just to grab attention. . . too distracting.

Just speaking for myself here, i dont obsess over form, but i dont want any $%&* on my club that either could distract me, or doesnt serve a largely beneficial role. so not form "over" function, but rather, so many clean options that perform exactly the same, im gonna try to find the "cleanest" and never let go. I would take a logo-less, paint-less club if i was sure it performed as well as any.

curious why they ditched the adjustability of the hybrids after the F7. maybe they didn't sell enough of them because people were able to adjust the club instead of buying 2 different lofts.

I'm guessing it was simply a cost issue, just like when Cobra isn't able to offer certain clubs in left hand. When that happens, it reminds me that Cobra is just not on the same level as some of the other club manufacturers like Ping and Callaway. Cobra still makes some great clubs, but just isn't able to compete in other areas.

Pin this for uneducated comment of the week.

Ping and Callaway's top ambassadors are lefties last time I checked. Think that has anything to do with it?
