So basically they made the it bit harder than Duo U (60 vs 55) and made cover 40% thinner.

I really liked Duo U. Might give this a try at $35

good to see golf ball prices coming down. I wonder how Cally did with 2018 CS. Bet sales went down hard.

Hysterical that they have the nerve to name it “professional” when it doesn’t actually have the specific characteristics of a ball that any professional player or top Amateur would actually want.

Good old marketing. Ugh.

Anyway.....nice to see another $30 option out there to do battle with the Q stars and project A’s.

I imagine they just had to come up with something new as "Duo Urethane" didn't exactly inspire.

So this surlyn ball is supposed to spin more than the urethane ball?

It's a urethane ball.

With a surlyn mantle.

Every multi-layer urethane ball has a surlyn or surlyn-like mantle layer or layers.

Yes. I was just pointing out the surlyn mantle as I think that is what led to the confusion over whether this was a "surlyn" or "urethane" ball.

Personally, I'm not a fan of having both the Staff shield and the words "Wilson Staff" emblazoned on the ball. All their good balls of recent years have just had the words, and their less-expensive balls have had the shield. I guess having both is supposed to signify that this ball bridges the gap between the two kinds of balls, but I think it just makes the ball look too busy.

I agree but on the field, I dont ever have to turn the ball over to see if it's mine or not. Busy ball!

I’ll be interested to see how the matte Urethane cover feels. The matte Urethane Vice Pro Soft felt pretty slick to me.

Why the matte ball? Do people really like it or has the OEM's mis-judged this big time. I prefer a shiny yellow ball.

My favorite color ball it the Callaway Superhot Bold (Red).

I tried the Vice Pro Soft in Red and the color wasn’t as good. Wish the Callaways were a little cheaper but Red catches my eye against any back drop or color grass so it is great for visibility.

Yes they get a little dirty but usually I lose a ball or 2 per round so not a real issue.

Can’t wait to try these. Hope they are as good or better than my current gamer Duo U. Otherwise I will look to stockpile. Nothing could beat the Duo U for me this year after significant ball testing, including the AVX. I will say I saw similar performance and feel between the Duo U and K Sig.

The article linked in the first post of the thread made it quite clear that the DUO Professional is a urethane covered golf ball and not surlyn. There should be no confusion.

The lower compression Duo-U is my go to ball whenever temps fall below 60 degrees F to replace the ProV1 in the rotation.

I just didn't like that they stained a darker color after say 12 holes of golf.

That cover sure is tacky and must pick up small particulates which embed in the cover and discolor.

Looking forward to the Duo Professional!!

I will consider Duo P when Hurricane has 3 dz for $40 again. Too soft for my taste. When I hit Duo U pure, I felt like hitting air. no feedback.

I found one, played it on a water carry, dog leg hole. Had a hard time finding it as I've never hit a ball that far over the water, and fairway, into the driving range. Cool day and I haven't played since then.
