Looks like Louis Oosthuizen is testing a set of Ping blades - supposedly a true MB

 

 

Damn those are beautiful. Too bad I probably couldn't hit them but who cares? My bag would look better than the other guys.

It's your right to disagree with iTeach; just remember that he's actually out at tour events, with the players, some of which he teaches. I believe what he sees more than what you believe.

 

These came out at the same time as the i210 and there are lots of those irons in play on tour and the website (Ping's WITB page) reflects this. For i500 ... just an occasional long iron replacement. I guess we can wait and see but I'm not seeing any pros playing hollow-headed irons, from any manufacturer, except in the long irons. Ping's Blueprint forged irons might be the one to break through, although it's still hard to tell from the photos and limited info online if these are solid, hollow, progressively hollow, foam-filled, etc. They look great though.

 

PXGs are hollow and there are a number of pros with those in the bag. Ap2s are hollow'ish and those are in play. never say never.

 

Agree ... might just be a matter of time for them to perfect this technology for the shorter irons. Very intrigued by Ping Blueprint.

I’m a lifetime blade players who has an i500 retro spec set in the bag for two months. The distance control is spot on with this set. Sole is different than I’m used to. But that’s ping. Compared to the 790 the I 500 is a scalpel. The 790 is hot and unpredictable over a 7 iron. I500 have none of that.

 

And plenty of ping staffers have them in the long irons. Cameron champ is one. Finau. You can bet you’re about to see tons of 3-5 i500 and 6-pw blueprint irons in the future. Same construction.

Exactly what I had in mind....4 and 5 in the 500, 6 thru P in Blueprint. I've never looked forward to a set more....

i would suggest to ping to make an I500 tour irons. Slightly smaller head, regular lofts, and maybe decrease the springiness of the face so that it was less of a "distance iron". they look great just tweak it for a tour model.

 

I believe that's what the "Blueprint" will be.....prayers answered

I think others have posted but iblade 2.0 and blueprint will be two separate offerings. My guess is iblade 2.0 will be much like original iblade but will incorporate softer insert they used in i210. Essentially, iblade 2.0 will be the same update as i210 was to i200. Hopefully, they’ll release soon but probably late summer, unfortunately.

They probably want peeps to buy Blueprints then realize later they are better served buying the iBlade 2.0’s ?.

iBlade and and Blueprints are different worlds in terms of blades. I love my iBlades and I would love to try the Blueprints, but my game is no where near what they require.

 

Maybe in a mixed set.
