How do I fix this??????

I've spent many many hours trying to get "lag" and my hands forward by watching hundreds of youtube videos and going to Golftec.

 

Please help!

You hit big flippy hooks don't you ?

 

Golf is everything in reverse. Don't try and hit it right more , it will jus make it worse.

 

A good drill to get that elbow more in front is to have one alignment stick along your feet line then another stick ahead on the ground but about 10cm to the left , so like a railroad track like this _ -

 

You then need to try and hit the stick on the left keeping the club head square.It will feel like you are cutting it, but you will hit it straight. With practice :)

Many people try and "create" lag by using the forearms to "hold off"

 

In reality that tension you are putting into your arms is doing the exact opposite.

 

relax the arms and wrist and let your torso drive the swing.

 

 

 

edit : Being over the top isnt helping either. You need to let the shoulders do ALL the work in the back swing and let your hips to ALL the work in the downswing. It is impossible to have lag when your first move on the down swing is a cast

Your upper right arm to elbow, is "stuck" behind you at the top. Makes it really really difficult to get in back in front coming down.

First thing I would try is strengthening your grip a bit

Ball seems too far fwd in stance for a 9 iron.
