Lob wedge shaft vs other shafts

I know there are different schools of thought with matching wedge shafts to irons and each other. I’ve seen similar weight, soft stepped, and even heavier discussed. Piggyback question is, what lob wedge shafts do folks play that are different from rest? Playing it for a special purpose, feel, etc. In the end more practice wins but for sake of a thread, what are some thoughts.

 

I have PX 6.0 in irons with AWT 2.0 in GW/SW. LW has PX 6.0. I was thinking about KBs hi Rev 2.0 vs tour stiff.

Heavier and softer camp here.

 

The Old stand by. S400. Nice and heavy, not too stiff, doesn't spin too much on full shots, which i have issues with.

I play Aldila Multi-comp Pro 105 in my wedges, the feel is fantastic and they keep the flight down for me which is great.

 

Play 85g in my irons, I like to have a heavier feel in my wedges to know where the head is.

 

Everyone is different and each to there own but this setup really suits me.

x100 127 grams in my irons and my gap and my sand wedge.

 

hi rev 115 in my lob wedge. Im usually trying to stop that club quicker than the rest with loft and spin.

IMO weight is the factor that should be considered the most, second is stiffness if you're planning on making full swings. The shafts I use are descending weight so I actually go up in flex a bit to get a heavier shaft and then soft step. Its a feel game with the wedges and its hard to go wrong with heavier + softer.

I don’t really take full swings with my l wedge so I generally don’t care what shaft comes installed.
