He’s just using an old sleeve that has the loft on it instead of the +/- system. They both work the same.

So basically he’s using a 9 degree head that probably measures out at 8* and the 7* setting in his sleeve is basically -2 stated so that gets you 6*.

I've heard before that Cobra will mark their wood heads for the tour guys with the absolute lowest loft they could get a head and then they will work backwards to get to a desired playing loft. For example, Bryson's F8 3 wood was labeled at 12* and 5 wood at 15* but he's actually playing them at 14.5* and 17.5*. Probably same with the new driver... they could get the head to 6* but he's probably playing it at around 8* as he has with previous drivers.

The grips are the thing that interest me. The only guys I ever knew playing jumbo or XL grips were guys with arthritis. He is making it work big time.

I am the same way, they really interest me. I've tinkered with different sized grips but I personally feel like I lose feel in the club face. I cannot imagine what his grips feel like. He's also totally about the science of his swing but don't you need to feel your contact?

I tried the Jumbo Max grips before and had trouble turning the club over and you lose feel. The size did not physically bother me. It felt like holding a baseball bat and you feel like you could totally crush it. But when you swing, it doesn't translate.

Not that it matters to him or anyone but I just don't know where I stand with this guy. When he first came out and had all those cool names for each Edel Iron, I was like "this dude is different and it's great for golf". I like how he debunks certain things about equipment and the golf swing but on the other hand he seems just way too goofy with his interactions and personality. Then this stuff about leaving the flagstick in... I don't know if I'll be cheering or booing when this screws him at a tournament.

The same thing happened last year with Rickie at the Hero Challenge. He put the F8+ in play and won with it. All being a 18 man field.

The driver is outstanding. Anyone that loved the LTD Pro will want to get their hands on one of these. Cobra has really been bringing out great stuff the last few years and nobody is playing it unfortunately.

Not sure why everyone is giving this guy grief over the flagstick rule change comments he made. Next year all the players are going to be this - trying to figure out when to leave the flag in or out. Lots of groups, coaches, players are have already been testing this out. And I think its only common sense ti think that the construction of the flag will make a diffetence.
