Champkey Golf Grips

Just wanted to share these with you guys.

 

Amazon is selling knock off Golf Pride MCC type grips under the "Champkey" brand.

I took a chance on them since they are half of the price of Golf Pride.

Also the reviews were pretty good.

 

I have the grey MCC type grip on 13 clubs (not putter) and I have not been disappointed. I'd say this is a deal ! I really like these grips. About 3-4 rounds with them, plus range trips / practice. No issues.

any comments on taper and size?

 

I am looking for a cheap replacement and these look wonderful.

 

I have stock of Medalist grips from way back in the day golfsmith ($1.50 a grip) they had less taper than normal

Those grips could last you 3 seasons and people still won`t buy them, their simply not a top name brand. People gotta have the big names. :dntknw:

They dont look too bad! Def dont look as complex as mcc, but if they wear well and hold their tack its a nice deal!

No sorry...I have not! I was waiting to see if there was anyone with first hand experience with them. If you decide to try one please share your opinion!

 

UPDATE...just bought one...I mean for $15.99 there's not a whole lot at stake to lose! I'll report back when it arrives!

I've been using this for a couple years, jumbo C1. Going to put one on a Scotty, I think. Both are right at 80g.

My Champkey putter grip came in...I bought a blue one from the eBay ad listed here...it's basically a SC mid-size Matador knock off IMO.

My initial observations...smells like automotive brake cleaner spray...the odor is not overwhelming but definitely noticeable when you sniff it. There's also some slag/overflow of rubber around the hole in the butt end of the grip which is one of signs of counterfiet SC grips...just saying. Measurements are 10.75 inches long and weighs 89.7 grams. It's a nice size, feels very tacky...maybe a little rubbery.

 

I don't have immediate plans for this grip so I won't have any durability and/or playability feedback any time soon.

I have the Champkey Legacy Putter Grip arriving today in mid 2.0 size. Wanted a Superstroke type grip and for $13, it's well worth a shot. Will install it tonight and report back.

Just to follow up... got the grip installed tonight. Other than the graphics, it's basically the exact same as a Super Stroke. Feels identical.

I got some of the MCC style in midsize just for a cheap midsize grip. Only played 1 round with them so far, but they felt great during the round. May pick up another set to go on some new irons I am putting together. And may pick up one of those Matador style putter grips to throw on a backup putter in the garage.

They are brand new and not the slightest bit tacky. I fear the club will fly out of my hands on every swing. I tried several different gloves and none stick to these grips. My 2 year old worn out WINN drytack grips were better than these things.

I just ordered a new set of WINNs and I'm ripping these pieces of c@#p off and sending them back! What a waste of time!

So I recently bought the Winn style Champkey grips. When the first got here I was extremely hesitant because they seemed a little slick and I had it in my head that they were going to bust when installing... I could not have been more wrong.

 

These grips felt slick at first but once installed, they have been great. Nice, tacky, soft yet firm, a great deal.

 

I have about 10-15 rounds on them so far and they look absolutely brand new. I have had a few friends and playing partners comment on how nice they look/feel and express surprise on how they are holding up.
