Evnroll reviews?

I currently play a Ping TR Anser 5 (has grooves) and really like it.

 

I am very interested in the evnroll tech. I do see used ones for sale often though.

 

Has anyone really tested this and felt like it is that different? Is it a game changer?

'Spy's Website did a glowing review on them last year...the tech works. Shiels also had high regard for them.

Have the ER2cs (I’m a SBST putter) and it’s awesome! They sell them at Golf Galexy now so if you have one close check out all their models. If no GG near you then search their website for a local dealer to demo some.

I'll be testing a bunch Friday. Only thing I don't like is retail doesn't offer a black option in anything but the ER6.

I don’t own an evnroll and they’re hard to come by in my area. When I was in California a month back I stopped into a big Roger Dunn store to compare these and see if the tech worked.

 

For me it was noticeable, it was easy to reproduce their youtube results on off center hits. They don’t have the head shape to compete with my odyssey 9, but given the juicy pics of the 8.3 I’m definitely going to take the plunge.

 

I recommend finding a place to test these, it’s noticable.

I've been using the ER5 since last year and I absolutely love it. My lag putting has become noticeably better since the switch.

I've had one for 30 days. Used it for around 5 rounds.

 

The sale of my Scotty did not push through back then as my buyer flaked out on me and I could not afford the full price so I needed to return the ER2. I loved how the tech worked for me. What I hated was the feel and sound.

I have an ER8 that I bought from the asst pro at my course. Wasn’t sure if it would knock the Scotty out of my bag but it has. Just a awesome feeling and performing putter. Highly recommend you try them out and see if one is for you. To me definitely worth the money.

To me these work much better on faster greens. I have 2 different models and I dont use either on the courses I play with slower greens. Just seem to struggle a bit more with the grooves on the slower ones. NOW, on the fast greens we play on, I love it.

Solid putters. If they gave you the option of not having an alignment line I would be back on board in a heartbeat.

I bought one for my ole man's birthday. He's about a 15 handicap and doesn't take golf seriously at all. He was using a Ping Anser 3 that I got him about 20 years ago..

 

He has one of the worst putting strokes you'll ever see and I only bought him the EVNROLL because it helps him with off center strikes. He does putt noticeably better from inside 10-feet with the thing. I think it's better for him on faster greens.

 

I'm thinking of getting one myself, but I would get it customized to fit my stroke.

My ER5s aren't for sale. The groove "technology" is similar to the variable depth groove inserts Ping uses/used -- I had a Shea with grooves that were deeper in the middle and thinner at the edges. I wouldn't call the grooves game-changing, necessarily, but if putter happens to appeal to you and you have confidence in it, that certainly could be. The Evnroll are just really nicely made and solid feeling, so I'm not tempted by every new putter that comes along, or by Camerons (Evnrolls are just as nice) or Bettis (I like the fang style for the back-saving ball pickup feature and Bettinardi doesn't have one). I like the evident quality of the machining and the fact that they're US-made. I like the look/feel and not everybody has one, and on a good day I make more putts than I probably deserve, so I think I'm set.

There are a couple huge threads on them in the putter forum. A great sign is that they're hard to find for sale used!

 

I had an ER2 for a season then switched to ER3. Outstanding putters, not much really I can say bad about them.

Plus black isn't really a fair description. A black putter makes you think just a black head. This version will have a black head, black shaft and black grip. When something is entirely black, it's commonly referred to be "murdered out" to signify there's nothing but black colorway. This is more from the car/auto world.

I tried so much to like Evnroll. I thought they would be the be all and end all of 3 putts. My lags and alignment would be perfect....nope. Tried for hours and it just isn't for me.

Have owned two Evnrolls. Really wanted each to work for me. Found in both cases, I just couldn't get speed control right--a bit too dead for me, too much work to get longer putts to the hole. Probably me, not the putters. But I do much better with speed control with the Spider and a couple of others.

This^ I played the ER2 for about half a season. I just had a hell of a time getting the ball to the hole. The ball just came off the face a little dead for me. They are beautiful putters though.

Yes it was out at my local golf galaxy this week. The ER5 in all black did look sexy. They also had regular ER5 and ER2s with the gravity grip on em. It was a very unique feeling.
