Srixon Z U85. 3 Iron bent weak, or 4 Iron bent strong? Need your help

Hey Guys,

I play Srixon Z565 4 and 5 Iron and Z765 6-P with Modus 105 stiff in them.

I don't like the 4 and 5 Iron. The Z765 feels a lot better and I get better contact with them.

I´m planing on selling the 4 Iron and go to the Z U85.

My 5 Iron is bent strong 1 degree to 24 degree. What would you think is the better Option, take the 3 Iron of the Z U85 and bent it weak 1 degree on 21 degrees, or to take the 4 Iron and bent it strong 1 degree to 22 degrees?

I have a really hard time thinking about it. The Recoil Shaft is 0,5 inch longer than standard, so its a perfect match because my Irons are 0,5 inch longer as well. So it seems logical to me to take the 4 Iron and bent it strong.

Will never get a chance to hit the Z U85 here in Germany. In the past I liked the Mizuno MP H5 2 and 3 Iron, didn't like the new MP 18 MMC Fli Hi and

didn't like the TM UDI 17 degree. The old Z U65 18 degree was fine.

Titleist TMB is a little hard to hit for me.

Problem is my 4 Hybrid (Titleist 818 H1 23 degree) with Tensei pro white 90 is launching to high and the Srixon Z565 4 Iron is launching to low and right.

Hope you could help me out.

Thanks

If you have contact problems, bend the shorter shaft strong.

If you don't have contact problems, bend the longer shaft weak for a little extra speed.

Either way, it probably doesn't matter at all as a 6 cap. A good strike with either will fly about the same.

The club isn't "launching low and right" your right shoulder is dropping through impact trying to scoop the ball in the air. That move (do it in the air) opens the clubface and delofts it sending the ball low and right. This is a super-common driver miss among tour players. Hit balls with the swing thought of keeping your eye line (and therefore your shoulders) level the entire swing.

I find my U45 and 565 feel very similar, maybe a bit more hollow on the U45.

the sole is very wide, find it less maneuverable

I have the U45 in an 18* and 20* bent to 21*.

I have experimented bending the lofts as strong as 2* and weak as 1*. I didn’t like them delofted because it added offset which isn’t good for somebody who draws the ball and prefers avoid left misses.

Secondly, the utilities have no bounce in the stated loft, going stronger would give you negative bounce on ground interaction.

Thirdly, more offset looks ugly.

Unless you are just looking to drive the 3 utility as far as possible, then go stronger (or reserve the option for down the road) I have my 3 utility bent a degree weak because I’m hitting it to a certain yardage from my 4 iron.

By the way, the 5 series in the 5 and 4 iron are very long. I actually had to sell my 4 Utility because the 5 iron was going just as far.
