Vega vdc-01 In raw. ( black ). You can name all you want. That's the king of soft and forgiving. You can't feel the ball come off the face of that forging.

Never heard of them. Do you know of a place were I can hit these in Utah?

honestly dont .... But sets are floating around cheap .( relative to their $2k original price ) .. ..

looks like someone found a dealer close.... check em out .. if you really desire soft dont hit them unless youre ready to buy .. You wont think anything else is soft again..

I cannot wait to hit them!

Maltby TE forged. You wont get a softer more forgiving CB.

From your list though. The mp18 will be softest. I didnt find the 919T to be soft at all. The 718ap2 are a good middle ground for feel and forgiveness.

Havent hit the 760s.

Hopefully I can find a place nearby to hit these. I am not sold on the irons I mentioned unless they live up to my expectations. I just see these irons mentioned quite a bit. I am happy I am receiving so many comments for other clubs. I am on a search for the softest most forgiving cavity back....no matter the brand.

OP, have you tried the JPX 919 Forged?

For me hitting the 7 iron on the 919 Forged, and the MP-18 SC, I got an average of 5-8 yards more vs. the SC.

Feel-wise, even with the boron infusion, I felt like both were equally as soft.

I have not hit them yet, but I am definitely planning on giving them a rip. Are the lofts stronger on the 919s?

Ping i210. Very forgiving and as soft a cast club as you can find. I'm obviously biased, but I purchased them because I think they have all the players iron qualities I wanted in the most forgiving package.

Do these clubs have quite a bit of offset?

Not in the P-7. They do have noticeably more in the 6-3. Just depends how much offset bothers you. Guys on tour play full sets as well as just the long irons.

Also, if you’re buying new, these are quite a bit cheaper than the mizuno, Titleist, and TaylorMade options. Not sure about the Srixon.

I will add them to the list.

I play these in 4-p and when I have an off day and my swing isn't on I sure am glad to have the forgiveness these bring to the table.

Any other irons I should be hitting?

Hogan PTx. Best irons I’ve ever played. Forged titanium face welded to a forged steel body.

They have a nice 2 club demo program since they are factory direct only. $20 gets you a mid and a short iron to try for two weeks. Send them back with a prepaid shipping tag when you’re done. If you like them, order a set. I knew after 10 minutes of hitting them on the driving range I was ordering a set. I’ve been playing them 30 months now.

Mizuno will be the softest. Srixon a close second. I imagine the TM will be most forgiving. AP2s are very blade like in their performance. P760 goes very high and straight with DG 105 and 120 shafts.

I got fitted for Miz, Titleist, and Srixon and found the Srixon to be the softest. Having said that don't go by what people say on here...it's all subjective. Hit them all and go by your personal feel and data. Everyone's swing is different and different clubs suit different people!

How will that black finish hold up?

Is better than most. But the face will wear immediately. It’s a raw iron. The backside willl hold up better than others I’ve seen though. Just wear spots on the face will go to raw after first round or two. I preferred this. But I know some don’t. No black finish out there that the face holds to black.

Wilson V6 Tour is also a great feeling iron from what I've heard. Never personally tested it, though.

Any Srizon 7 or 9 series irons are very soft, as are most Mizunos, Callaway X Forged, etc. I don't know any of the exotic brands.

... I seem to be the only one on this forum that keeps singing the praises for Cobra's Amp Forged/Fly Z+/Forged Tour irons. Excellent soft feel, mid size head, workable and very forgiving for a players iron. I have played all 3 versions and would still be playing them had I not fund the P790's, although I still play my Forged Tours several times a season.

I've played Mizuno's forever. I recently decided I wanted to try something new. I had my eye on the Srixon Z785's as they felt just as soft as Mizuno to me. I ended up with 718 AP2's because I got a good deal on them and they were my 3rd favorite. I haven't regretted my decision thus far. I can work the ball either way and I kind of like having those traditional distances. You know if you hit the shot you aimed to hit it's gonna go the distance you want it to go. Of course that could be said for any of these clubs except maybe the TM. The 790 had horrible hot spots for me. The AP2 isn't as soft as Mizuno but still has a nice forged feel and enough forgiveness for my needs, I'd say a little better than SC and a little worse than MMC. Although to be fair the MP18SC's are NOTICEABLY softer feeling than the MMC. The MMC is still very nice, but the SC's are like butter. But with that extra softness you give up some forgiveness.

Played Mizuno for 10 years+, Endo forging through Bridgestone (J15cb) was noticeably softer then my 53s,64s, and MP4s. I love Mizzy but Bridgestone defeated them quite handedly. You may find some Boutique irons that are as soft but it will not be easy.

go look at JDM clubs like Vegas, on off, epon, etc....

They make more forgiving cavity backs that are forged....even some SGI ones that are forged......more so than domestic market

Everyone gonna have different opinion on softest and most forgiving but JDM will have way more options especially those on larger side of CB's

And they use soft metals for most part

You do also know that soft and forgiveness kinda contradict each other.....more mass behind ball better the feel...more perimeter weighting to help forgiveness takes mass away from behind the ball......always a compromise

lots of options, the Wilson c300 forged feel great to me, what about New Level Golf, who are getting a bit of attention lately, look very nice and are supposed to feel great.

I have heard great things about New Level Golf. They are on my list of irons to hit. They are making great looking irons and wedges in my opinion. I cannot wait to see how these perform!
