TS3 vs. 915D4

Like the title says...had anybody compared the two? I use the D4, and it is the perfect combination of low spin and distance for me. I hit it straighter than any driver I've ever had, but after hearing how much the TS has improved over the more recent lines with regard to spin, launch, etc., was wondering if the TS3 would be an upgrade from the D4?

Imo 917 was a big improvement over the 915 line and in some limited testing with TS line there’s some increase in ball speed. Not sure if it was range balls or what but I prefer sound of 917.

Best bet is to get fit or find somewhere to compare as each persons experience is going to be different and with all the normal stock shafts still offered plus the addition of several new ones lots of options to dial in

TS3 is very long for me. I'm a slower swinger (96-98MPH) and was getting around 260 total on average with the TS3 with about 1900-2000 spin. My brother who is in the low 100s also saw lower spin and higher ball speed for about a 10 yard gain. I gained probably 15 at least over my 913.

I have played the D4 since it came out. I had tried the 917 but the D4 was better for me. I picked up the TS3 when it came out and it is performing better for me than the D4. I'm getting a few extra yards but the thing that won me over was the dispersion. The TS3 is straighter for me and harder to hook, if that makes any sense. My miss is a quick hook and TS3 doesn't seem to produce that shot as much as the D4. Granted, it is the guy swinging the club, but the TS3 flies a little straighter.

I'm still messing around with different shafts in the TS3 so I'm not as comfortable as I was with the D4. I'll get that figured out eventually.

I am actually surprised I'm making the switch because the D4 just "worked for me". I've tested it against every new driver over the last few years and it always performed better. I won't be getting rid of the D4, but for now I'll keep the TS3 in the bag. As we true Wrx'er's know, a club is only as good as its last round and always is in danger of being replaced.

I didn’t see much improvement in ball speed from 917 to TS line. TS might be a little easier to fit than the 917 line though.
