Ever forgot something you needed and found out later at the Golf Course?

Forgot the battery for my golf trolley once. Potentially serious because I have a GoKart and the battery was an integral part of the body as it holds the two halves together. Luckily I have a spare battery case in the car so was able to use that to hold the trolley together and just push it round instead.

The latest model no longer requires the battery to hold the trolley together.

I’ve started to keep golf balls stored in my closet. I’ve had an over-supply for so long that I haven’t had to even think about balls in at least a couple of years.

Get to the course one day and don’t see any sleeves in the back of my car. Nor do I see any in my bag. Uh oh. I mean, I can buy at the pro shop but with probably 84 balls in my closet it would be such a waste, and I usually have a random ball or three in my valuables pouch and a little pouch in my golf bag, plus I don’t lose many golf balls...so I just head out anyway (running a little late).

Get to first tee...find one ball in my pouch and one in my golf bag. Even still, figure two will be enough to get me through 9 so will buy at turn if I need some.

I made it through 18 with a ball still left in my pocket (only lost one). Talk about pressure, though ?

Anyway, got home and put a few sleeves in my car and have not needed to reload but once since!

Got to the course as a singe and teed off with a random twosome. First green realize I had left my putter in the living room after practicing. One of the guys let me use his putter for a few holes. For some reason I'm always really good with strange putters (for a while), line and lag. They are all strange, mine is about 500 grams. Fresh meat syndrome.

It was monsoon season so an afternoon weather cell came over dumping rain and lightning. We were near an on course bathroom with a porch so we waited there for the lightning to quit. It took a while so finally they bailed and took their putters with them. How inconsiderate!

I'm not a good putter anyway. I discovered that day I couldn't putt with anything other than a putter either. Wedge, 3W, long iron... didn't matter.

Funny thing, I was just texting with Lamont and told him about finding a tour Circa 3 that I forgot I had, lol...

I'm sure I have forgotten something at some point.

I've forgotten what I forgot

On a serious note I have found clubs and shafts in my basement that I forgot I had

The worst was years ago. Showed up at my club to play and the clubs were not in the back of the 4Runner. I was sure I had left the house with them. Seems when I stopped at a sister course to pick up a prize for my nephew one new and very efficient bag drop kid emptied my hatch unbeknownst to yours truly. It was quite a riddle

Forgot my shoes once. Bought a pair of Callaway shoes. They're not bad, but not good for walking. I'll only wear them when I'm riding.

You should make them your driving to the course shoes ... Justin Case

This happens to me all the time. I've left my putter at home too many times to count! I've gotten pretty good with bellying my lob wedge lol.

But even worse is when you leave something on the course then realize it when you get home....the good stuff never gets returned.

Say that again. I dropped a towel at my course, realized it a couple of holes after the fact, went back to look for it, gone! Nobody returned it, a freaking lousy towel.

A little different âleft behindâ story. Finished playing one afternoon. Parked the cart back in the shed and went home. Later decided I wanted to do soemthing with my bag and went out to the car to bring it in. Pop the trunk, no clubs. Jumped in the car and quickly went back to the course (fortunately, itâs not far away). There were on the back of my cart. For some reason I just pulled in, parked, and left. Without putting them back in my car í ½í¹

I’ve done that as well.

I have practiced putting at home, and sure enough, got to the course on league night, and it wasn't in the bag. What about you, what have you left behind. Something else, any funny stories you have, or seen someone else forget?

Happens less than it used to (for reasons you can guess if you read on), but I'd just call my wife or one of the kids and they'd bring out what I left behind. The day I was too hot and my wife met me on the tee on the 13th with some shorts I could change into turned out interesting for a couple of older gents out putting up signs and pin prize markers for a church golf event later that day (and yes, she had already left by the time I started to change, but my group enjoyed these guys rolling up out of nowhere and me standing there in some boxers, lol).

I have nowhere else to put this, so this thread seems like the best fit.

I played hockey growing up. When I was in high school, I used to always have dreams about forgetting my equipment or not being able to find my equipment before a game. Usually it was my gloves that were missing, for whatever reason. It was always a panicky dream, really more of a nightmare, and I woke up all anxious and unrested. I'm sure there's some rational explanation as to why I had this recurring dream.

Last night, for the very first time, I had one of these dreams about golf. I dreamed that I couldn't find my driver and 3 wood at the course, and then couldn't find them at home, and then couldn't get through to the course when I tried to call them to ask if anyone turned my clubs in.

I hated those dreams, but it's nice to have something that I care about enough to creep into my subconscious.

I actually forgot my divot tool one day (I had just swapped over to a new bag) and randomly in the middle of the sidewalk was a nice, switchblade style one. There wasn’t a soul in site (middle of the day in July) so Shippy got a new divot tool.

Didn’t really forget it, but the first time I was going to use the pushcart my FIL gave me found out the tires had holes in them. Filled the tires up with air the night before, stuck it in my trunk with my clubs for the next day, get to the course and pull the cart out and sure enough 2 of the 3 tires were flat as a pancake. Asking for that new Clic Gear cart from Costco for Christmas with the solid wheels to not have that happen again.

  • 2 weeks later...

Was leaving on a Monday to go to Alabama for a combination business meeting/golf outing. Played the Sunday with some buddies at a local course. Got up Monday morning all packed, and ready to go. Started looking around, Where the hell were my clubs?. Hauled a** to the course, and there they were in the cart shed on the back of the cart where I had left them. Was only about 1 1/.2 hours late leaving.for the trip, with my father, no less.

Just thought of another good one! I was staying at La Quinta and their course closed early so they somehow got us an afternoon round at Indian Wells (don't remember if it was Players or Celebrity). These carts were the first time I'd seen the overhead compartments to hold stuff.

Anyways, I left the course and later realized that I left my container of "goods" in the compartment! Went to the course first thing in the morning and they hadn't pulled out all the carts yet. We walked back to the cart I had used the day before and it was still there! Guy told me he was cleaning up the carts the night before and thought he'd smelled something "funny".....lol. It wasn't a ton but all of what I'd brought for the weekend. A rare victory as I lose pretty much everything I leave!
