The season ends with this one. The weather looks decent with temperatures in the 70's, and moderate winds. There's a chance for scattered storms on Thursday, but otherwise it should be mostly sunny.

A very strong field, although a few players have decided to skip it, including Inbee, Shanshan, In Kyung, and Amy Yang.

Coverage is decent with 3 hours each day. Please note that the final round coverage is on ABC, so you'll need to check your DVR settings. I had to manually set up my DVR to record the final round. Just in case the tournament runs long, I also set up the DVR to record several hours on the Golf Channel starting at 4:00 pm ET.

Ariya, Minjee, Brooke, Nasa, and Sung Hyun all control their own destiny. A win guarantees them the $1 million dollar CME bonus.

I think it's hard not to pick Ariya to run the tables. She's had three top 5 finishes in her last four starts, nine top 10's in her last nine starts, and hasn't finished outside the top 20 since June. Minjee and Danielle have been in the mix the last few tournaments, and should see the top of the leaderboard. Lydia generally plays well here.

On paper this should be a great battle.. Ariya and Danielle basically ruled the Asian swing. Carlota and Jin Young were right there as well. I wonder if fatigue might creep in on Danielle,Ariya, and Sung Hyun.

I can`t really see any one player sticking out for me. Lydia, as Argonne mentioned plays really well here..I would really like to see Jin Young bring this one home.

I thinking a few may fly in under the radar too, Brittany Lincicome, The Korda`s, Charley Hull, may as well throw Lexi in their for old times sake.

I'm going with Brooke this weeks, I think the putter shows up. I liked an interview she did this week saying she's not cutting down her schedule even if it impacts her world ranking. I like that, results matter and not some computer generated algorithm.

I guess she`s young enough, get it while you can!

Lexi's going to have a new loop on her bag...her Mom is doing great...she's opened up about her challenges...going Lexi, with the putter, in the CME for the win.

Lol. Lexi poses with the winning trophy in the media room.

So the purse for next season's Tour Final will be 5 million (1.5 million to winner) which is awesome for the women's game. But now the field will be cut down to 60 players and everyone has a chance to win, no more point system. This I think is stupid, every tournament is a single entity that has no meaning other than it's own standing. I personally feel the tour Champion shouldn't be someone with 3 top 10's and a good week at the end of the year, but that's me lol

So in other words being the most consistent player all long will get you nothing extra in the end, except a chance along with 59 other girls to win the CME globe?

I agree. I think the FedEx Cup has the balance right between series performance and final tournament performance, even though it's complicated.

Picking Minjee. I thought she and Nasa would be multiple winners on tour this season after they won their 1st events earlier in the year (Not much of a risky prediction, since both were and have been playing outstanding). Nasa came through in Japan. Minjee is going to wait until the last event of the season.

If she is 100% Healthy I'm going for Minjee Lee to take this one.

I believe Ariya has been very up and down with her consistency lately. We'll also see which Danielle Kang shows up for the CME. One could take it all and the other could have me laughing as she cusses and throws her ball in the water after missing a putt! :-P

Cristie and Amy Olsen out to an early lead. Both are -4 after 8 holes. On the tail end of the leaderboard is Jin Young, +2 after two holes. Plenty of time to right the ship, though.

Oh my gosh, poor Minjee has no idea she's carrying the weight of the thread on her!

The awards and the purse are small stakes by comparison, of course...

Lol, no one tell her! Doesn't she get a little nervy on the 4th day? Either way if her putting is on she'll be in contention for sure, should be a fun weekend!

I was there today. Thursday at this tournament has to feature the oldest average age and median age of any golf tournament in the world. It was difficult to find anyone younger than myself and I'm in my late 50s.

* No idea why Ariya refused to hit the 3 wood until the final two holes. She was surrendering so much yardage off the tee to Brooke and Minjee it was laughable. No matter how good her approach shots are, she surrenders margin for error from that far back. When I watched her win this tournament last year it was due to that 3 wood and then deadly approaches from close range

* Brooke has poor technique with the putter. Less than ideal, anyway. Hands not extended far enough away from her body and often a slight deceleration. Causes erratic roll off the face. She didn't make a darn thing for birdie until Minjee had an almost identical putt on the par 5 14th, allowing Brooke to follow and make just enough of a correction from about 25 feet

* Brooke could have birdied the final 5 holes but she had an awful short miss on 16 when her sister tried to point out a line well outside the right lip of the cup but Brooke didn't seem to trust that. She aimed slightly inside where her sister pointed out and then was a big tentative anyway, exaggerating the break.

* Then on 17th fairway Brooke and her sister took forever deciding on the club selection for the second shot. Drove me nuts. I was thinking back to one long-ago episode of Big Break when the barefooted girl took 5 minutes to play a shot from the fringe. Kind of a bad break when Brooke's ball bounded over the green into pine straw but I didn't have any sympathy. Then she played extremely conservative on the pitch shot, not willing to risk a hop right and down the slope. It ended up 12 feet left, on a chip of perhaps 30 feet. She missed the putt.

* I wanted to follow Nataoka but her caddy is such a jerk it turned me off. Others in the gallery were mentioning it also. He is constantly fixated on the gallery and looking to chastise someone for moving, etc.

Meanwhile, nothing is going on. There was actually one spectator cat calling him for overreacting. That's how bad it got.

* Doesn't feel the same without Leadbetter out there along with Michelle's parents. They are always scurrying around and I can listen to conversation. Now I'm hearing garbage like, "Nice shot." "Thanks."

* The Canadians who follow Brooke are high in number and very knowledgeable and enthusiastic but they never say anything weird enough to report

* Not much going on at the range after the round because weather threatened and players departed. No American players out there braving conditions late. Just Asians and their coaches.

* Lydia practicing one 4 footer after another

* Lexi sure smiles a lot with her brother at caddie. She looked relaxed and confident every time I caught up to her group

* I miss Sparkling Ice but good new trend is ice bucket alongside practice green is outside ropes and easy for spectators to access. I had two Mountain Dew

* Karen Stupples is gaining weight every year in this role

Pressure on the points leaders? While the lower ranked players were freewheeling it, the top of the points pack looked a bit tight, other than Nasa.

Was the wind steady throughout the round, or did the early players catch a bit of a break?

Yeah, Lexi definitely looked loose out there. 'Nice round.

It does say something that several prominent players are skipping the "Tour Championship". I get that it may not be worth the hassle flying across for one tournament, but still. This is supposed to be an elite event, or at least the tour folks have tried to impress this upon us.
