I also checked with a few other long drivers and all use SS training before workouts and no more then 3 times a week,,,and also heres a lil tip if you don't want to spend the dough on power golf system,,,,go get 3 old driver shafts,,,epoxy a 1/4" pipe nipple on it,,,,weigh it ,,and by adding a pipe cap ,,you can very easily get your + or - 15% from your playing driver usually around 300grams if you epoxy the cap on it will never come off,,i had to drill a few holes in the cap to get my under weight ,,,sounds like a lil work but not everyone has the $

Ok, I just bought this system. I have some questions that maybe someone here could help out with.

1. Does the added distance only reflect in your driver or will it increase the distance you hit all your clubs? (really dumb question I know but I have the mindset of never assume anything)

2. How is your control after increasing your club head speed? I am currently taking lessons to smooth up my swing and fine tune it. I am a 16 hdcp but I have played 4 times this year and all rounds have been in the 81 range.

3. Should I follow the training program on their site, step by step for max results or is there some other things I could do that would help give myself max results.

I am up for any recommendations as golf is pretty much one of my top priorities. (the list goes family, work, golf) so this is something I am dedicated to and have put in the time to get my scores to where they currently are. My goal for this season is to be able to consistently break 75. Probably opening up a can of worms here but let me have it straight.

I think once you train faster the body remembers ,the kinetic chain that works when swing the driver is for speed which delivers distance when hit correctly, I also think SStraining gets you to a longer swing ,and if you do some good general stretching your irons will be longer as well. I don't see the connection between SS training and handicap , think there are better ways to lower it then driving it longer.

One thing I would for sure do as it helped me a lot was make sure you train both sides I do 3 sets from right and 3 from left "only 6 swings each but all out with each club. baseball swing, knees, golf swing.

I guess the connection I see is by hitting the ball further off the tee you are putting shorter clubs in your hands on your approach shots. I am also working with a local pro to help with swing mechanics as well but I figured by putting the 2 together it would help the overall score.

I have 3 shafts that are 5 wood length or so. Could I just match one to the swingweight of my driver then add/subtract 15% from that club weight or am I way better off with 3 driver length shafts?

I believe this would work ,,the longer the shaft to you driver length would be better to get the swing a bit longer,,but this is mainly a speed drill,,

Donnie Parker power golf is what someone posted on the previous page.

Looking to pick up Suoerspeed myself this winter. I was hoping someone on here was selling/trading one but it seems u never find a used system for sale....

Probably a good thing to notice

From a google search I do not believe the power golf system is still in production. The website is gone as well.

Just to throw this out there, and to each their own, but I don't understand all the talk about weight training and such to gain speed. I think this product (speed trainer things or whatever they are called) are a good method for improving speed quickly but I have another way you can do it. JUST PRACTICE SWINGING ALL OUT AT THE RANGE FREQUENTLY.

If you hit up the range every other day, go through your routine, but then finish with all out swings with each club for a while, you will learn to fire your muscles fast and learn to control it (over time). I am a firm believer that almost everyone has the capability to accelerate what ends up being something very light (right around 1 lb is what a club can weigh, and you don't need a lot of muscle to move 1 lb about as fast s it can possibly be moved), its just that most people don't practice it. It might be because they are embarassed to duff or blade or chunk a bunch of balls during the process of learning to swing faster or something else I don't know, all I know is I went from 105 mph driver to 130+ just by practicing swinging fast.

Weight training to me is not for speed (I know though it can help some), you will see better gains more quickly in my experience just doing what I stated above, but weight training will definitely help prevent injury because as you start approaching 120+, it gets hard on your body. Your knees, your hands, your ligaments in your arms will take a beating. It will also help you ultimately control the club at those speeds.

How did so many golfers in the past, not lift anything, yet hit it a mile and accurately? They practiced a ton, and practiced hitting the ball hard. Get golf strong, as I think Hogan put it.

Swing hard in case you hit it!

I couldn't agree more! Hopefully my experience with speed can be of value as well...

Having a swing speed of 122-127 (trackman verified) while only being marginally athletic in every other sport, I believe speed simply comes from swinging as hard as you can, especially when you're young.

I said "marginally athletic" because in-spite of being pretty good at most sports - I can barely get a slap shot off the ice (after 9 years of hockey); furthermore, my highest recorded baseball throw is only 65mph, and I've never hit a home run.

Being "good" at various sports but only truly explosive in golf, I believe speed comes from training fast and hitting fast (even at the expense of accuracy) over the course of years with a particular benefit coming from developmental years. My dad always told me to swing as hard as I could - and that I did. The result is being able to carry the ball well beyond many who are far superior in every other athletic measurement.

I was about to buy SS system but decided to try a DIY project first. Took some old driver shafts with adjustable tips, slid on some big 3/4” steel nuts I got from Ace, and then taped it up with electrical tape so the nuts won’t fly off. I’m betting they’d work fine. Now I just need to use them.

Do you have any old shafts at home, it is pretty easy to make it home if you have a few tools and some skill!

Make your own.
