This guy was a horse

Never seen a guy his size make moves in the open field at full speed like this

People used to say "ED" like it meant something - now "ED" only gets talked about during commercial breaks of pro golf.

He was literally rediculous. As a kid I still remember watching him. I’ve seen a couple guys run him down. Then watched him literally throw them to the ground one handed.

Also seen him run over a linebacker then get to the secondary and side step a safety in space so hard that the safety fell down. Literally faked him off his feeet. Combo of power ,speed , size and mobility is maybe the rarest in sport ever.

You must be Bryson's long lost brother, separated at birth.

If only I had that swing speed.

Do you have an engineering and/or physics degree? Just trying to see how many similarities there are....

Thank god ! Someone else besides me wears socks ! Every dudes feet on this site I've seen are sockless ! Wondered if I was the only sock wearer left !

Now that is one hell of a 20,000th post!

For the record I'm a sock wearer as well.

First, I am HONORED to be the subject of Blade's 20k post. Yay!

Second, my degree is in economics. I'm a scientist in a different way. I worked in M&A for 4 years and then as a financial/data analyst. I'm literally a professional problem solver. The physics I have taught myself along the way thanks (in part) to Trackman University, Tom Wishon's postings, vector putting and Dave Tutelman's site.

The strategy and performance analysis I've learned from Broadie, and my own analysis using PGA Tour data sets.

The socks I learned from common sense. The rest of my style is 100% pragmatism.

I'm cool in my own understated way. And I'm a social chameleon. Maybe I should add that to my resume.

EDIT: Socks and opposable thumbs are all that separates us from the animals. Oh, and taking hats off in the grille room LMAO.

1 Jack Nicklaus 2 Tiger Woods 3 Sam Snead 4 Arnold Palmer 5 Gary Player 6 Ben Hogan 7 Byron Nelson 8 Walter Hagen 9 Gene Sarazen 10 Billy Casper 11 Harry Vardon 12 Lee Trevino 13 Tom Watson 14 Nick Faldo 15 Steve Ballesteros 16 Greg Norman 17 Bobby Jones 18 Phil Mickelson 19 Gary Middlecoff 20 Willie Anderson 21 Raymond Floyd 22 Hale Irwin 23 Tommy Armour 24 Julius Boros 25 Lloyd Mangrum

Great list!

Here's what I would change.

1. Tiger Woods (1996-2018) 80 wins 14 majors (+11 other international wins)

2. Jack Nicklaus (1962-1986) 73 wins 18 majors (+7 other international wins)

3. Sam Snead (1936-1965) 82 wins 7 majors

4. Ben Hogan (1938-1959) 64 wins 9 majors

5. Arnold Palmer (1955-1973) 62 wins 7 majors

6. Gary Player (1958-1978) 24 wins 9 majors (+29 SA Major wins and a boatload of others)

7. Tom Watson (1974-1998) 39 wins 8 majors (+7 international wins)

8. Walter Hagen (1914-1936) 45 wins 11 majors

9. Gene Sarazen (1922-1941) 39 wins 7 majors

10. Bobby Jones (1923-1930) 7-13 majors

11. Byron Nelson (1935-1951) 52 wins 5 majors

12. Phil Mickelson (1991-2018) 43 wins 5 majors (+2 Euro wins)

13. Seve Ballesteros (1978-1988) 9 wins 5 majors (+45 Euro wins)

14. Lee Trevino (1968-2004) 32 wins 6 majors

15. Nick Faldo (1984-1997) 9 wins 6 majors (+24 Euro wins)

16. Harry Vardon (1896-1914) 7 majors

17. Billy Casper (1956-1975) 51 wins 3 majors

18. Vijay Singh (1993-2008) 34 wins 3 majors (+9 Euro wins)

19. Greg Norman (1984-1997) 20 wins 2 majors (+12 Euro wins and 31 Australian tour)

20. Ernie Els (1993-2013) 19 wins 4 majors (+22 Euro wins)

21. Cary Middlecoff (1945-1961) 40 wins 3 majors

22. Rory McIlroy (2010-2018) 14 wins 4 majors (+7 Euro wins)

23. Bernhard Langer (1985-1993) 3 wins 2 majors (+40 Euro wins)

24. Jimmy Demaret (1938-1957) 31 wins 3 majors

25. Lloyd Mangrum (1940-1956) 36 wins 1 majors

Hmmm, that's still leaving out Peter Thompson, Bobby Locke, and a host of others. This is an impossible task the further down the list it goes.

If we are ranking golfers, as opposed to golfers' professional careers, I think we should add the Amateur majors (give them 1/2 credit if you prefer).

If you live above the 40* longitude line, your interest is split between hockey and surviving the winter. If you live below the 35th. longitude line your interest are split between whether you should wear a hat or chip from the fringe. If golf was a seasonal participation event then a multi million dollar industry wouldn't be flourishing. Then there are those who are the casual visitors. Their season ends when the leaves start to change and some how eating turkey and watching golf don't mix.

Talent ? Good looks ? Notches on his belt ? Pilots license ? Swagger alone is worth 4-5 majors. Come on man !

Ever since the RC ended, this place has seemed pretty quiet. Like a beach resort in winter. Just curious if the mods have week to week traffic volume numbers. My sense is that traffic peaks during the week of majors or when certain guys are playing.

You have not been to this beach resort---- It never slows down

I was bored over my lunch hour and looked back at some of the oldest threads in the Tour/Pre-Release forum. Threads from 2005. There's some gold if you dig deep. Plenty of stuff to fill down time over the winter.

Also reminds me of how immature and uneducated I was in 2006 (15 years old) when I found this place.
