TV help needed.....

The Vizio P series got a lot of good reviews and comes highly recommended. I love my vizio but I had a flickering issue which in my opinion was the xbox one s. So far so good on my xbox one x knock on wood. You really can't go wrong with any tv as someone has mentioned. I was going to replace my tv but it needs to be a smart tv, have 3 hdmi inputs and analog audio out. The only tv that meets this criteria is a Vizio tv.

Best Buy has a 65” Samsung on a Black Friday deal for $599. I don’t even know the specs, but my old Samsung Plasma has been really good and my TV repairman friend says Samsung is pretty good, so it sounds like it would work for someone like me who is not overly picky. If the picture is pretty good I’m happy.

I am glad I quit worrying about it, looks like the 65" QLED is gone from Costco now.

Our 55" Sharp Aquos UHD developed a fine horizontal pixel line after one year. Wife didn't like it anymore, so off it went to the Man Cave. Unless you look for it, the line is nearly invisible.

 

The living room TV is now a six year old non-UHD 50" Seiki, an (at the time) entry-level flatscreen, which continues to work perfectly.

 

Makes me wonder if I want to risk buying a high-end TV again.

All set up in the basement, feel confident I made the right choice. 50" to 65" is a sweet jump, things is massive, picture is phenomenal, and a nice long warranty for piece of mind.

 

Also, back up to $1600 now......

Do you have a calibration disc? You'll definitely want to dial in the black level and white level. 'Almost all TV's come out of the factory set to "Torch" mode.

I've used the "Digital Video Essentials: HD Basics" (Joe Kane) disc for years. I've also heard good things about the "Spears & Munsil HD Benchmark and Calibration Disc 2nd Edition" and the "Disney WOW: World of Wonder" discs.

Rtings.com has recommended settings for every TV they review. It might not be perfect, but should get you in the ballpark.

Yeah, I always started with a known recommended setting, and then adjusted from there, as every set is slightly different.
