What are they driving? Cars of the Tour

rukahs

Recommended Posts

Thought it'd be cool to see what they're all driving. We know some inc. Poulter have a massive collection but I am more interested in cars they actually use.

Anyone seen them in person?

A few common ones:

Lexi Thompson's GTR

Lexi drives a Datsun? Considering her name, I thought she’d have a couple of Lexus on the driveway.

Rory's Ferrari F12 has about 200hp more then the GTR and is also approx 200% nicer..

I'm not jealous. :(

even the ferrari?

If they are both stock, F12 has about 130 hp more but GTR's are easy to mod and get up to 750hp very cheaply. F12 is a rear wheel drive car, GTR is AWD, huge advantage getting off the line. 0-60 for stock GTR is 2.9 seconds, F 12 3.6 seconds.

I feel it's safe to say none of them are driving a Mazda 6.

You never know, some guys just don't care about cars. There's alot of stories about athletes driving beaters because it keeps them grounded etc

One of the guys on the Canadian version of "shark tank" still lived in a small house he grew up in. My house is nicer!

So you never know. Someone probably does

I chuckled at the Datsun comment. So true.

But New2 is right. GTR will get most of them straight line or not. First seat time I got in one opened my eyes to awd. It’s like difference between 320 OB and 320 down the sprinkler line. Putting the power to the ground nets more useful power.

And I am not an import guy.

Sam Burns has an endorsement with a Ford dealership & drives a Ford F150 Raptor

Ford Raptor, awesome!

Tesla? When you consider they are taxis at Schiphol Airport, not so much.

One glaring exhibit of his groundedness is his car. Spieth drives the same vehicle he did in high school. It is a black 2007 GMC Yukon with more than 110,000 miles. You can maybe spot it from a wedge distance away because tape covers a cracked taillight. And there’s a chance it’s dirty, for he showed up for a recent photo shoot having not had it washed in three months.

Cute, but that was almost 5 years ago.

One of his cars now is a Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG V8 I believe.

And laughin at everybody ; )

Isn’t it law that you buy a Buick after age 70 ? I know my father in law , a life long ford man , somehow bought one at 71 a couple years ago. They are everywhere !

Good customer of mine bought a new (15or 16 I forget )GTR . Was a pewter grey , sits along side his white hardtop 6 speed TT 95 Supra with 12k real miles. You’d be shocked how much he’s been offered for that car. And he bought it way back when as just a cool car. No idea how rare the hardtop and 6 speed where /are.

His is the GTR I’ve driven at length. It’s isnt his most powerful car. But pound for pound it’s the quickest and most nimble.

Mine was Gunmetal Gray, when I bought it only the Bugatti and McLaren were faster (stock production cars). Launch mode was insane, first time I tried it, I thought i was going to die, luckily i was not on the streets. I am waiting for the next generation R36, rumors are it will put Godzilla back on top of the sports car world, we will see.

LOL, at 41 my wife certainly wasn't as excited as I thought she would be with the new Buick Lucerne I thought she needed many years ago. Great car, super mileage but several months into it it was just too low at intersections in the winter, slippery on the ice, a little too big - I've lost track of the little hints and luckily when we traded it after just under a year I didn't take the beating I thought I would - now 12 years later she is thrilled to be getting a Subaru Forester - how middle of the road can you get? Oh well, I like her happy.
